If you started working out while BFing
Did it decrease your supply at all?
I posted a question yesterday, and someone said running might have an effect on my milk supply. Anyone have any experience with this?

I didn't run, but for a while I was seeing my trainer once a week and doing the elliptical and a little strength training (I have since fallen off the wagon but that's another post ). It never affected my supply. I would try and workout right after feeding DS so that I wouldn't become engorged.

As long as you drink lots and lots of water and don't cut too many calories you will be fine. I have been working out since Feb (dd was born Sept). I have gone from 190-155lbs and my dd is still nursing. If I feel my milk is low I drink more water and have a bowl of oatmeal the next morning. But I have never not had enough milk for her. That said she does have a strong latch and that help stimulate milk. I would start out slow and see how it goes. Remember when nursing it is best to only lose about a pound a week. You can do 2 pounds but no more. And you may hold on to the last 5-10 pounds until after you wean.

Re: If you started working out while BFing
I noticed a slight decline but than I just made sure I was eating and drinking enough and it went back to normal.
I am currently training for the NYC marathon and my supply has ben great even on the days I'm running 15+ miles!
However, I'm not losing any of the last 10 lbs. I have from the pregnancy. I don't think they will go till I'm done nursing.
