If you use a toddler bed for your two year old
I think I should remove the pillows around her bed.
Do you have anything to 'cushion' a fall off of the bed? Or am I just uber-parnoid?
She's been staying in bed most nights. Some nights she'll be on the floor since.. why not, it has all the pillows, right?
So.. if you're using a toddler bed let me know.. are they stand alone or do you have padding?
BTW I'm super proud of her staying in her bed, but I still wish she'd go straight to bed instead of sleeping on the floor first (her room or the living room) then we move her into her bed.
Side question.. anyone use that star light turtle thingy? how do you like it?
Thanks!

Re: If you use a toddler bed for your two year old
For the first few weeks, I tucked a pillow between the bed frame and the mattress. This way, if he rolled, he would roll INTO the pillow and it triggered him to roll back
After that, we removed it and he hasn't fallen out of bed. He is a VERY active sleeper too.
Yes, we have the starlight turtle too. We actually used it when he was still in his crib. It did the job.

Re: If you use a toddler bed for your two year old
DS fell off the toddler bed last night (convertible crib). I went into his room and found him fast asleep on the floor. Falling off didn't phase him a bit. (He's fallen off maybe 3 times in the last month).
I never put anything down for extra cushioning.

Re: If you use a toddler bed for your two year old
we converted her crib into a day bed...I ordered a toddler bed railing for the open side. Prior to that I put those oversized floor pillows down and found her sleeping on them a few times (thus prompting the ordering of the rail lol).

We have a convertible crib. The railing stayed on for a month (maybe) and then off it came. She hasn't fallen out of bed yet. (notice I said yet, because tonight I'm sure now that I said she hasn't fallen she will).

We rolled up a large bath towel to make a little barrier and put it under the mattress pad so she couldn't roll out anymore. She rolled out the first few times, but never since that. I don't put anything on the ground next to her bed.

DS is in a car bed with double rails. The rails are pretty high up towards the top. At the bottom, we have his comforter folded with his sham inside. He doesn't roll over it. We did this after he fell out the first night.

we used the toddler bed rail for the open side so it stopped her from falling.
