If you use sound machine, when do you turn it ON?
I've been turning it on after pajamas are on. I turn it on, dim the lights and give last bottle in glider. He's been falling asleep before finishing bottle though. At what point during bedtime routine do you turn it on?
Thanks!

We turn it on after she's done w the bottle. We play a lullaby cd during the entire bedtime routine.

She doesn't drink a bottle in her room so I just turn it on after I put her in the crib before I walk out.

DD gets a bath every night so we put it on once we enter her room after her bath. Therefore it is on when she is getting changed into her pajamas and when we read her books. DD doesn't get s bottle at night time anymore.

Thanks everyone! If DC is not getting bottle in their room, if they are still getting bottle, where do you give it? It's not incorporated in bedtime routine? DS#2 is not even 8 weeks but DS#1 didn't sleep through night until 8 1/2 months and I'm desperately trying to get help this guy sleep through the night sooner!

We don't have a bedtime routine. I deplore routines in general because I'm just a mess myself! She never really drank a bottle in her room- excpet for in her crib. I don't have a glider- they make me motion sick. She pretty much gets a bottle after dinner- she drinks it while wandering around- watching Elmo, playing, she just kind of wanders with it and drinks it. Then when I see her getting cranky or tired or I have just had enough- we go in, put her PJ's on, brush her teeth (if she will let me that is- some nights it's a no go on that) and she goes in the crib and the sound machine goes on.

Re: If you use sound machine, when do you turn it ON?
DD gets her last bottle in the living room with DH and I so we can all be together. After she is done I give her a few minutes for her belly to settle and dh says his goodnights to her. I bring her upstairs, wipe her down with a wipe, change her diapers, put pj's on, turn off light, turn on sound machine and night light, sit in glider and rock her for a few minutes so she gets nice and calm and tired and then she goes in her crib and falls right asleep.

I feed Kenzie in the Living room, then let her belly settle for maybe 15 minutes while she watches her last show. Then I give kisses, put her in crib, turn on machine and walk out.

Re: If you use sound machine, when do you turn it ON?
I usually turn it on right before I put DD into her crib, after I nurse her and read her books. But if she seems a little hyped up, I'll put it on sooner to help calm her down.

Re: If you use sound machine, when do you turn it ON?
We turn it on right before we put him in the crib. Turn on sound machine, sing, pray, in the crib he goes and lights out. Sound machine stays on all night.
For naps, we turn it on, put him in the crib, lights out. Or put him in the crib, turn on sound machine, lights out.

We put it on after DH says goodnight to her. I turn it on, shut the lamp & nurse her in the glider.

We have a set betime routine. We put his PJ's on at 7:30, give bottle in the den with the lights turned dim and we watch about 10 min's of Blues Clues. When he is done with his bottle, bring him up to his room, give kisses & say goodnight, he grabes his lovie, we turn sound machine on and close the door, within 2 min's usually he is sound asleep.

Re: If you use sound machine, when do you turn it ON?
We put on PJ's downstairs, then head up to his room. Once we get up there, we put on the white noise, then put on his sleep sack, read a few books while he drinks a cup of milk, then we turn off the light, sing him one or 2 songs, and put him in his crib. Once he's in the crib, we turn on classical music on his CD player before we leave.

Re: If you use sound machine, when do you turn it ON?
Both DD and DS have a sound machine in their room. With DS (5 months) we give him his bottle in his room in the glider, read him a story then put him in bed. Then I put on the projection mobile and the sound machine. DD's (4 yo) goes on after story time when we turn out the lights.

I turn it on when I put him in his crib then I walk out.
He has his milk in a cup after his bath and before I get him settled in his crib. He walks around with it. Usually following me from room to room while I get things ready for him lol.

Re: If you use sound machine, when do you turn it ON?
We've always turned it on when we are done putting pjs on. When he was still BFing, I'd have it on.
When he weaned, I substituted nursing for a book, the sound machine was on.

Re: If you use sound machine, when do you turn it ON?
DS is only 1 month, but I've been doing our routine from day 1 at home, and it seems to be working. Around 9pm I take DS into our bedroom with a dim lamp on and give him his bottle. As soon as he's done I put him in his bassinet and give him a good swaddle. Then I turn his sound machine (sleep sheep on "rain") on and the lamp off. He's totally gotten the hang of it! If he doesn't fall asleep right away, he will lay there, content, until he does.
