If you were invited to a bday party and the host specified "no gifts"
would you feel a little odd about actually not getting a gift?
My friend sent an invite for her twins 1st birthday and specified "no gifts" but I just feel weird coming empty-handed . . .

I would probably still get something and have it sent to the house before the birthday.

That was my initial thought too but when I saw her this weekend she was saying how her whole house is just flooded with toys and clothes and how they really don't need anything but it just doesn't feel right to not bring something.

That's actually a really good idea!
Thanks!

I'd make a donation in their name. For little kids like that I'd probably do something like March of Dimes or St Jude's

Re: If you were invited to a bday party and the host specified "no gifts"
I wouldn't bring anything toy/gift related.
I would bring a gift card but even that I'd be sure it was an Amex version or Mastercard. Not necessarily a BRU/TRU, BBB, etc gift card.
So many times I wish I could take the extra clothes I had and trade them in for food. Money spent in BRU, BBB for canned food was wasted on me because I made her food and even on formula it was a huge saver to have money for formula bulk at Costco than smaller cans (waste) at BRU. How many times I took her to the doctor and thought, great I got an arm load of clothes but no one's helping with copays.

I would get a savings bond for them when they're older.

I would then do a gift card to a clothing store too....bec they may think they have everything...but twins growing out of clothes every three months can add up quickly! They might have a ton of clothes now, but do they have when they are 2-3 yrs old! Gift cards they can save and use as needed
!?!??! JMHO ?!?!?!

I would bring something else then. Maybe a bottle of wine for Mom or a fruit salad for the party. How about making a donation in b-day child's name.
