If you work full time
Do you cook every night during the work week? I try to, but with working a 9 hour day, gym, cooking, cleaning, etc, I don't get enough sleep. I'm sick the second time in a month period, and I think I need to make my life a little easier.
I'm just wondering what everyone else does. Or is everyone here perpetually tired?

Re: If you work full time
I cook every weekday but Thursday because DH usually eats at the firehouse. We go out to eat Saturdays and Sundays are up in the air.

Re: If you work full time
I would say that I cook on average 3 nights a week. One night a week DH cooks b/c he is off (although I usually end up heldping) and I usually don't cook on Fridays.
Fridays and the weekend I sometimes will heat something up, but not actually cook a meal.

Re: If you work full time
No.
I go thru phases, either like to cook often or not at all.
I made dinner last night for the first time in months Figures it's the night DH comes home from work not hungry

Re: If you work full time
I am in the same boat as you. I work fulltime and go to school in the evenings four days a week and the gym. My husband or myself cook quick meals during the week. Mostly one dish meals or bbq.
In the past I have stressed over housework and laundry during the week, but recently I have realized it is not worth stressing over it. On most nights we eat at 10pm and then I am off to bed.
I save all the house chores for Saturday and Sunday when dh can help me.

Re: If you work full time
I'm lucky if we cook 2 nights meaning a prepared meal. We have all kinds of stuff we heat up or frozen stuff in the fridge.

Re: If you work full time
We really try to plan our meals for the week. DH gets home before me so anything that might need to be done around the house he does before he has to pick me up at the train station. And then we cook/prepair dinner together.
We also run almost all of our errands on the weekend so that we don't have to do it after work.

Re: If you work full time
I cook every night that DH comes home early. There are two nights out of the week that he works late so on those nights I don’t bother to cook.

Re: If you work full time
I always cook enough to have at least one night of leftovers, so I don't have to make dinner from scratch every night.
I try to plan it so that we eat leftovers on the nights we go to the gym.

Re: If you work full time
I work from home about two days a week so I cook on those days. I cook enough for left overs for the next day, or I will cook two meals and put the one for the next day in the fridge.
If I have a week that I have to come in every day I usually cook every other day and make enough for leftovers the next day.

Re: If you work full time
DH does most of our cooking. I cook 1-2x M-F and on weekends.
DH works a lot of nights though so many times I just prepare something simple for myself.

I cook about 4 times a week. I make stuff on the weekends and freeze that stuff. The freezer is a good friend of mine!

Re: If you work full time
I cook everyday and we plan our meals before we leave for work, so DH can start something for me as I'm driving home. It's easier in the summer since we grill everything - winters take a bit more time.

Re: If you work full time
We hardly ever cook and it is bad. We both work such crazy hours and schedules that it is hard. We are trying to be better about it.

Re: If you work full time
people who don't cook - does that mean you order in/eat out/grab fast food?
I would have to cook a lot more if my family didnt have their cheesy family dinners LOL

Re: If you work full time
DH and I both wake up super early and go to the gym before work.
He gets home at 3:30 (he's a teacher) so he cooks dinner. I dont get home until 6. usually one nite during the week we eat out/get take out. I use the crockpot alot and do alot of prepwork the night before so all DH has to do is turn on the oven.
I cook on the weekends.

Either me or my DH cook most of the time. If I don't like what DH made, I just make a salad.

Re: If you work full time
I cook almost every night.
except lately, b/c I can't deal with the smell of cooking food. so my MIL does.
but under ordinary circumstances, I am in the kitchen cooking dinner most nights...from scratch. no short cuts. and, I usually shop for dinner the day of, since I never know what I want.
we eat late though. anytime from 7:30-9pm, once dh is home from running and what not.
ETA: I usually work out, either at the gym or running, during my lunch hour. or I would run home from work (3 miles) so I am able to incorporate it into my day, rather than take MORE time out of the day, kwim.
I'll be doing this also once the niño/a is born.
