Re: If your Best Friend of 20+ years' children were Not Vaccinated.....would you..
There is a 5-10% typical failure rate of vaccines... thus, when you work in a busy & high risk place like a hospital, you are required to take a MASS vaccination (to cover for the small failure rate & prevent an epidemic).
SO: I would NOT send my kid to a pre-school or day care that allowed kids not to vaccinate.
I would have a tough time deciding whether or not to let my kid play with this best friend's kid.
Honestly, it depends on my kid's age and the risk of exposure that I believe this best friend's kid has. If they lived in a household with lots of kids, traveled anywhere, ect: NO. If my kid was young: NO.
I think to each their own... but if my kid is at even a fraction of a risk, I would not choose to expose him. He's too precious.
And no. I do not take him on the train.

I wouldn't care. You never know who is or isn't vaccinated, whether it's your best friend's kid or the kid your child is playing with at Chuckie Cheese.
ITA! Wouldn't care in the least bit, actually it's never been a thought that has crossed my mind.
Same here. Wouldn't bother me in the slightest.

And I agree with pp who said "Her Kid, Her choice"
and no the reason wouldn't matter one way or the other.

I think yes of course I would..I dont want my kids to live in a bubble..Then you can't play at the playground...or any other public place..because who knows who is vaccinated

I felt like this too, until last year I had a student ( I teach in a public school) that had a vacince exemption. He has had NO vaccines ever. None of the kids sitting next to him knew. How his mother got around this I don't know but she did. (His is not based on allergies or religious beliefs). So in a school setting (like kindergarten) you may still never know.

I wouldn't care. As long as my kids are vaccinated, then it's really not an issue to me.

Re: If your Best Friend of 20+ years' children were Not Vaccinated.....would you..
Personally, I'd feel better about it after my DD had all her important vaccinations. It makes me uneasy for their children (putting them at such a risk) but also for mine.
I know you can be exposed to something anywhere, but if I can LIMIT it from a place where I know it's could come from- I will.

Yes I would as long as my child was protected (vacinated) at my comfort level.
