Re: If your child had their tonsils/adnoids removed...??
It was not my child, but my neice just had her's removed. She is 7 1/2. She snored so loud and she was getting like 5 bouts of strep throat in a year so they finally found a Dr. they liked and he agreed they should be removed and it should help with those things.
Her adnoids were "Impressive" (according to the Dr.) in size. My brother sent me a pic.
She had it done the Monday b/f Thanksgiving and she was out that week and the next from school. My brother said it took a while for her to get back to eatiing and feeling better.
I think the day of it was pretty quick. She went in around 6:00 AM and she was home by 10:30.

My DD(9) NEVER slept EVER from the time she was born until she was 5. I can tell you very specifically the 1st time she ever slept because it was the day she had her adenoids removed. For us, it was like a miracle!!!! Her recovery was great, she had a little bit of a bad reaction to anestesia. She vomited for hours after so they kept us a bit longer then they planned. however by the next day, I had a hard time keeping her down. She was hoola hooping in my livingroom

Not my DD, My niece. it just happened actually on the 6th.
She has had severe and MANY ear infections since birth. She had tubes put in, they came out.
It has affected her hearing, and her speech actually.
She had them removed, her adenoids, and was in that am, out by 11...and talking to me and eating ice cream by 2pm that day. Very good recovery.
