If your DC got a fever reaction 7-10 days later from the MMR
DS got the MMR along with a couple of other vaccines at his 12 month well visit last week (Monday). They said it was normal to have a fever 7-10 days later. Well yesterday he woke up from his nap burning up, he had 102. I was prepared for it so I'm not freaked out. I've alternated Motrin and Tylenol and it's gone down but is not gone. He had an awful time last night, we all barely slept as he's simultaneously cutting his top front tooth. I didnt' take his temp in the middle of the night but he felt super hot again so I gave him more Motrin. We've been officially "up" since about 4 am, I put him down for his nap this morning, gave him more Tylenol and he only slept 45 minutes. Right now he's practically delirious he's so exhausted. He's playing right now and is happy but still has 100.7. So, long story short....if your DC had a fever from the MMR, how long did it last and should I expect anything else???

DD#1 had 104.3 or so and a rash - but was acting normal. She had it I think about 1 1/2 - 2 days.

DS had a small fever 100 ish for the first day and 1/2 after and then again the following weekend 5-7 days ~ he was acting normal but more fussy and felt feverish! He is also drooling a lot so not sure if his molars have anything to do with it also.

Re: If your DC got a fever reaction 7-10 days later from the MMR
My son got fever seven days after the shot which lasted between 2 and 3 days. Nine days after it he got a rash which looked like flat, red measle -like dots on the sides of his face, stomach and diaper area. The pediatrician said the fever and rash are normal reactions as long as they occur for just a few days and no other symptoms coinside. Hope this eases any worries/concerns.
