If your DC isn't a fan of the carseat? (long car ride question)
Dh, Ds and myself are going on vacation in a few weeks and are going to myrtle beach.
Ds is not a fan of the car seat and the furthest we have ever driven with him is 2.5 hours. So if your DC is similar what did you do to make the car ride more bearable? We are planning on leaving late at night. Hoping he will sleep a good portion of it. We have thought about just me and ds flying but honestly I don’t feel comfortable about Dh driving over 8 hours at night time by himself and all 3 of us flying is not a option.

Definitely leave right before his bedtime so he will sleep a large portion of the ride there.
Also, get a DVD player, lots of snacks, new toys, books, etc. and sit in the back with him.
But, you never know, he may surprise you. DS was the worst with long car rides and we went to OBX, North Carolina when he was a bit over a year and he was GREAT the whole way there and back (12 hours each way).
The DVD player was a life saver, as well has having lots of drinks and snacks handy.

Completely agree with all of this!! Also if he has a favorite TV show, try to get a DVD of that if they aren't old enough to watch movies.
