I would not allow it, i would suggest kindly for her to come maybe for a week tops after dc is born, and let her know that your mom is staying with you to help out, that should give her the hint

Ummm... Thanks but I really need to have this time alone with my toddler would be my answer. I would explain that there is going to be so much upheaveal for him that you would rather it just be you two until the baby is born.
Sounds good doesn't it?Chat Icon

I remember my MIL coming to stay for two weeks after DD was born and counting the days. Chat Icon

Seriously, I would love it! I need all the help I can get though. Chat Icon

I don't think there is anything wrong with having your husband tell her it is too much though.

I had MIL stay for three weeks when I was pg and for two weeks last May. It is really stressful to have any houseguest that long.

Where will she sleep? If she will stay in your living room (where MY MIL stayed) I think you need to talk to DH and see if he can help convince to stay for a shorter period of time. That would be WAY too cramped.

Good luck!

I would:

A. Think H E L L froze over.
B. Get ready for her to ask for the plane ticket

AND

C. Tell her where to shove it.Chat Icon

I understand your husbands point bc she is his mother. I also understand your point that you have no room. I would compromise on the time after the baby is born but a big no way for before. That is the last week you have with your son as the only one....you dont need anyone taking that away from you.

Is there an option D?Chat Icon

Tell her no. She needs to stay at the HoJo (AFTER the baby is born) and have a nice day.Chat Icon
