If your toddler is allergic to eggs &/or dairy
What do you feed them? I think Ty's getting bored with his current menu, but I'm having a hard time coming up with stuff. His egg/dairy allergy makes it hard because he can't have breaded foods or cheese & I'm not much of a cook so I'm running out of ideas.
Here's what he currently eats: With each meal - All different fruits & veg - Breads (whole wheat for lunch and/or dinner) - Vanilla soy milk or water
For Breakfast - Waffles - Oatmeal (the flavored adult kind)
For Lunch - Hummus - Chopped up roasted red peppers &/or pickles - Turkey & Chicken (both grilled/un-breaded cutlets & the deli variety)
For Dinner - Chopped meat (only plain) - Sausage (on rare occasions) - Pasta w/tomato sauce - Boca (veggie) burgers
It's going to be messy, but I might add a sugar-free jelly to the menu for lunch just to jazz up the bread...
Any other suggestions?
Thanks!

Re: If your toddler is allergic to eggs &/or dairy
My DD has the same allergies still at 3.5 but I am lucky in that she can have most processed stuff with egg or dairy in it, so bread crumbs are ok.
You could make your own chicken nuggets and use panko breadcrumbs and at some italian seasoning, salt and pepper.
I have been giving her peanut butter and jelly since she is 12 months old and she loves it. I buy Polnar since it is made with real fruit juice as a sweetener.
My DD also loves soups, all different kinds so I try and make that for her. Her favorite is white bean and escarole. You could make it and puree the soup before you add the beans so there is some texture.
Roasted chicken breast in tomato sauce with peas was a big hit with her too.

Re: If your toddler is allergic to eggs &/or dairy
DS is 1...he is allergic to eggs, dairy and soy. It's a challenge to say the least. Here are some things we eat. I think it seems pretty good, but his Ped wants him to gain more weight.
Breakfast homemade pancakes or waffles (with blueberries or almond butter or bananas or pumpkin) Smoothies-Banana, Rice Milk, Almond Butter, Flaxseed Oil and his multivitamin.
toast with olive oil and fruit puree
slow cooked oats made with rice milk and banana (must be chunky for him to eat it by hand-he doesn't like to be fed)
Lunch (sometimes dinner too) hummus on pita steamed carrots pasta with tomatoes and sauce pesto on toast chicken & chick pea meatballs Chicken, Leek and Potato Soup Chicken and Rice Soup Roasted Butternut Squash Chunks Rice made with Vegetable or Chicken Stock applegate farms deli meat sandwich sunflower seed butter and jelly leftovers
Dinner Whatever we eat. (And I make everything into a "meatball" for leftovers using Breadcrumbs and Egg-Replacer.)
Snack-I'm working on this. Avocado Coconut Milk Yogurt with Fruit Cereal Os Breakfast Bars (sweetened with juice not sugar)

Thank you so much for your reply. Soup is a great idea - I don't know why I didn't think of that! lol
If you don't mind my asking, have your DD's allergies seem to be "weakening" as she's getting older? Our ped said his are pretty bad (esp the egg allergy), but that he should grow out of them as he gets older. It might take until he's high school age though...I have a dairy allergy myself (epi-pen & all), so I just worry that he won't grow out of them

Re: If your toddler is allergic to eggs &/or dairy
I forgot to mention in my post, becareful with the flavored oatmeal. Some of them have milk in it (including some of the brown sugar and maple). I made that mistake once and now my DD will not touch oatmeal and she use to love it. I originally use to make her plain oatmeal and would add applesauce and cinnamon. You could also add pure maple sugar or some brown sugar.

Thank you also - you have some great suggestions, as well! I didn't know about Almond butter - I've always felt bad that I couldn't make him pancakes, but maybe I'll give that a try! I've been afraid to give him egg substitute, but I honestly haven't looked at the labels to see if it's ok or not (I don't do the shopping). If we can use that like you do, I think it would help a lot...

No, her blood test came up a 6 for egg and 5 for dairy when she was tested 3 years ago. Her scratch test numbers showed a slight increase in her dairy and her egg is still just as bad. I keep asking the allergist if she will outgrow it and his answer is always maybe.

Soy pudding and yogurt? You can use soy yogurt to bread items that would normally have eggs. My son can have goat cheese so I give him that. I also give him breakfast sausage fruit, waffles-you can give him pancakes made with bisquik and soy milk or water.

I'm doing him such a great disservice because my knowledge of food up until this point has only had to do with whatever I can microwave Thank you so much - I never knew about soy pudding & yogurt!

DS had a 6 for eggs as well and a 5-point-something for dairy I believe...so close to your DD's results I hope that she starts to see an improvement soon...in fact, I hope that for all of you allergy mommies. Thanks for your help

Re: If your toddler is allergic to eggs &/or dairy
There is a lot of soy products that are dairy free it is just a matter of finding the supermarkets that carry them. Tofutti brand has their version of cream cheese, cheeses, ice cream and pizza. Stoneyfield soy yogurt does contain dairy in it and for a while I was only able to give my DD the Silk brand or SoDelicious.
My DD doesn't like goat cheese, but my DS does (he doesn't have the allergy to dairy but does to eggs) and I put it on melba toast for him and drizzle it with honey and he loves that.
The beginning is always hard, but before you know it, it will be second nature.
Also, some items may say said free but will contain casein. I know Amy's dairy free mac and cheese has it because my DD broke out in hives after one bite.

I use egg replacer and panko bread crumbs to make chicken cutlets. The egg replacer works well, actually - I was surprised.
