I'm a mommy!! 3 weeks early (more pics page 2)
I just want to thank Karin for posting updates. I labored for exactly 12 hrs (to the minute) and I had DH send karin texts constantly to keep her updated lol
I'll give a brief story of what had happened. I woke up at 4:45am in some massive pain. I didnt bother to wake DH cause I didn't think it would last. I laid there having contractions until 615am when DH was getting up for work. I told him to hang around for a little cause I wasn't sure what was going on. I called the OBs office, they told me to head to L&D.
I got there and was hooked up to some machines. I was already 3 cms, but my contractions started to get further apart. My doctor mentioned sending me home, I was like no no no, i'm staying here please. I had slightly high BP and some more protein, so they decided to admit me.
I labored for about another hour, got checked and was 4cms. I asked for the Epi and while it was the greatest thing ever, I felt like i was dying when they were giving it to me lol my fault though cause i just SUCk at those things. I kept feelingl like I was going to pass out and throw up so they were trying to keep me still while also trying to keep me conscious lol finally that was over but my BP ended up dropping REALLY low. So they had to level that out cause i was feeling really sick.
So basically from 4cms to 10cms, I slept lol it was lovely. I started pushing around 4pm. Let me tell you, for me this was torture. I'm sure it's not a walk in the park for anyone but this was terrible. I kept begging the OB to take her out for me. The nurses kept saying I was the best pusher ever and I kept being not so nice back lol Finally at 4:44pm, almost exactly 12 hrs later, Emerson Rose made her appearance! I ended up tearing myself so I needed some stitches which are also not so pleasant.
There's some other things but this is the basic story. NSUH Manhasset doctors and staff were excellent!! We really enjoyed being there, they made everything so nice and simple.
So without further adieu, here's Emerson Rose. Born 2/18/10 at 4:44pm, 6lbs 3oz, 19 inches.
