I'm the worst mom
I still havent taken DS to get his bloodwork and his 15 month appt is on Monday. I just havent had the time in between moving, being pregnant, having DD now. Its so crazy. I feel like a bad mama.

Are you kidding? I never took my older DD for her bloodwork until her school called and said something...she was 2 years 8 mos!!! And I got a prescription for bloodwork for DD#1 at her 1 year visit (hi...5 months ago!) and decided I wasn't going to take her until she was 2!
So...I'm right there with you, but I'm doing it on purpose!!!

I've heard that there are a lot of people who never get it done.
I am actually glad I did it for DS because we found out he was anemic and he is now taking vitamins with extra iron. You can still get it done! You're not a bad mom!

Stop beating yourself up... its not like the blood has changes day by day. You'll do it when you find the time. Give yourself a break.
I can't imagine being preggers with a toddler.. so you're already stretched pretty thin.. ... deep breath, you aren't a bad mom.. just an overwhelmed one!

I was told anytime btwn 10-15 months.. but then when i went for her first year check up the doc who saw her made me feel guilty.. . said its supposed to be done by 1 year check up, then why did the first doc give me a time line  ... Now its after her ck up and everytime i plan on doing.. something happens.. lab closed, dd has a cold (told not to do b/c it may show up on bw making me have to go back again.. soo not taking that chance).. plus forgot to do urine the day of check up.. so still have to do that too..

DS is 18 mo. and I still haven't taken DS. The thought of holding him down to take blood upsets me.

You are not a bad mom. I only got it done b/c DS school required it for enrollment. They wanted a Lead test before he started there.

Noahs 16 months and I still havent gotten it done  Mostly because Im just terrified to take him alone and they are never open when DH is home.

I think the main reason is for lead and iron levels. If you have lead pipes it can leach into your water and cause lead poisioning which leads to neurological issues, etc.

My ped's office doesn't prescribe bloodwork at the 12 month well visit, they do it at the 15 month (I believe-- we haven't gone yet for DD's)
Don't be so hard on yourself, take him when you can go-- he'll be fine
