Steve Bannon was recorded in an interview calling progressive women "Dykes". This is not hearsay, its on tape.
How can anyone defend that?
Oh hell no. Now he's insulting me personally as a progressive woman and the LGTBQ community. I'm calling my congressman today. *******.
ETA: since when can't we say B@stard?
Have you researched this or just running with it, just like I have said people are doing now?
Yeah, I did research it and I heard the audio with my own ears. Obviously you are the one who needs to do more research.
I would as like I said I am not very familiar with him but I do watch the news non-stop and am learning from all sources. It is not my top priority though so if I hear things, I will listen.

I am sure that will be worked out. The Clinton foundation is another animal all together. Eventually that will be investigated.

There is no sign of it being worked out. It's incredibly troubling that he has appointed his children to his transition team.

Again, I watch, listen and learn. That is all any of us can do. Keeping yourself abreast and educated is the best anyone can do. Not with just this but everything that is going on in the world around us.

Re: Im waiting.....
And yet, not one person has been able to address my question. WHY should I not be afraid? How do you look past Bannon and then say to someone who feared this is the EXACT thing that would happen, its OK. How do you feel about giving a voice and a platform to a bigot, or at the very least some one who runs an alt-right website. You are responsible for that. How do you feel about that man having a place in our government instead of denouncing that type of behavior?
I dont give a sh!t, who is republican, I didn't love Bush, but I certainly didn't fear him being President. I didn't agree with him on policy often, but I dont think he was a danger to this country or unfit to be president. I accepted and respected him as our leader while still disagreeing with policy.
This is completely different.

Re: Im waiting.....
That Bannon headed Breitbart at a time when disgusting antisemitic headlines were published, as well as EXTREMELY offensive and derogatory things about women, is enough for me as a Jew to consider him an antisemite on top of being a sexist homophobe.
Add to that - the testimony of his ex wife, as well as the word of former Breitbart employee Ben Shapiro and Breitbart's response to him.
And then even more so on top of that - major Jewish organizations that I trust like the ADL have denounced him and expressed concern about his appointment. Add all of those together and that's plenty of evidence for me.
And yeah. I've done plenty of research. Days of it, as I field calls from concerned family members outside the country who are urging me not to bury my head in the sand and assume everything will be fine.
Even IF Trump himself isn't these things - this is the company he's keeping. These are the people he's choosing to surround himself with.

I will answer that then. I don't think you should be afraid as you weren't afraid (I assume so correct me if I am wrong) when Obama was the president and we had terrorists coming into our country killing people and nothing was done to stop it. There is a huge divide (obvious from the protesters right now) in our country and Obama hasn't even addressed it.
What ARE you afraid of? Why are you letting your fears take over from something that hasn't even happened yet and things you are just assuming will?

Why are you questioning her fear? Isn't she entitled to her feelings? For the record I am afraid as well- not for myself, but for friends and families who are part of communities being marginalized and targeted.
Regarding your comment on 'terrorists coming into our country' and 'nothing being done' where are your facts? Because many of the acts of terror committed in America have been carried out by people who were born here. And statistically, you are more likely to be shot by a white man with a gun. Between 2001 and 2014, 3,412 people died in terrorist incidents, nearly all of them on 9/11. Over 400,000 died from gun violence. source

I only questioned it as how can someone answer a question why she shouldn't be afraid if they don't even know why she is afraid.
I think the continuing of threads like this and the non-stop media incites the fear more. There is always something to fear in this world but I feel too many people are going overboard right now. I hope that I am not wrong as I would never want anything bad to happen but I had more fear of Hillary getting into office. I think the fear is also that he is not a politician and we can't gauge by what he can and will do. Even Obama said to give him a chance. It is not like NO ONE will have been in the political arena to help him out. It will take time and just like any job, he will have to get into a groove.
What did Obama done about the violence and you do know that the biggest shootings, San Bernandino and Orlando were people who were born here but plead allegiance to Isis and followed them.
Happy???

*blink* What? *blink*
I really cannot believe I read that last sentence.
One shooter in San Bernadino was a US citizen (born in the US) and the Orlando shooter was a citizen and also born in the US.
Please explain what you mean by white normal U.S. citizen?

It's like the bullies calling the little guy out on in the school yard. No matter what he says or does, they will jump him anyway.
I think it may be time to give it a rest with this. There are plenty of FB pages you can go to and ask this question for the 12,000th time
Not everyone who voted trump, voted for TRUMP himself. They voted for a change from D to R. That's what I'm hearing from most
So like in another thread that asked how to get a president impeached, if that happened, it would then be pence. Which some said is WORSE. That tells me it's not just that it's trump and the things he has Said , it's the thought of a republican run government that has everyone upset. The name Trump is just used to fill in the blank when some talk about Republican government.
Either way ... it's a done deal right now. The back and forth, name calling, etc will change nothing but people's opinions of you (General you on both sides of this) going forward.
This! I also love the " tell me why.. Blah blah blah?." To have someone answer and have 20 people nastily jump on them with name calling. I miss what this board used to be.

Re: Im waiting.....
WTF is a "normal" citizen?
Not all US citizens are white. Far from it.
And not that it matters, but the man responsible for killing twenty children at Sandy Hook was white, upper middle class, US born.
I don't like to feed trolls, but the comment about "white, normal citizens" was just too disgusting to ignore. Take your hatred and bigotry and spew it elsewhere, you racist ***.

Your last point is key- because 'white, normal' US citizens have never causes mass destruction. Oh wait, Timothy McVeigh, the Unabomber, Dylan Roof, those are just a few normal white guys.
If you're going to go that route, I have 'ties overseas' as do many people in America. Does that make me a terrorist or a sympathizer?
