Important registry question for 1st time Mommy....

Ok, so I'm not sure how many of you know my story, but I am pregnant with an "oops" baby (and I say that completely lovingly, it's just a fact) and the father is just a "friend of mine." We agreed to raise the baby together but in two separate loving homes.

What are the important things that we'll BOTH need to have in our homes (or for travel) that aren't necessarily easy to travel with on a daily basis or easily packable into a car?? Things that I'll either register for (2) two or we'll end up buying a carbon copy of...

I have thought of the following so far:

---crib
---dresser
---changing table
---diaper genie
---car seats? I'm not sure if we can just have two bases and switch back and forth between cars?

Anything else you ladies can add on?

pack and play? I know you can just pack it up and take it, but I find it kind of a nuisance to keep taking it down. I don't think you'll need 2 diaper genies, you can just throw it in the garbage.

For the infant car seat you can just get a second base, no need to buy another one. However when the baby is too big for the infant seat you will need to buy 2 convertable car seats.

i wouldn't say a diaper genie is necessary for both.
You'll need 2 infant carrier bases, but probably only one carrier.
A bouncy seat or swing at both places would be good too. Eventually, 2 exersaucers or walker type of thing.

Pack n Play
High Chair

I would think that in the infant seat stage, two bases would work well. Maybe think about two car sseats once you are in the 2nd stage.

Maybe the feeding stuff too. It is kind of a pain to carry all the bottles all the time.Chat Icon
