In honor of this beautiful day - Name your favorite park!
I am always looking for new ones to take Ryan to. And since he is still napping - figured why not start a thread?
It would be helpful if you posted the name of the park as well as the town it's in And if not too much trouble, why you love it.

We go to Jones beach a lot. It has a great brand new playground, and I love walking the boardwalk to get there.
Eisenhower Park is awesome. It has a gorup of 4 playgrounds, several swings, we love it there.
The Flight 800 Memorial Park in Center Moriches. It has a nice playground and a lake where we feed the ducks.
Belleview Ave. Park, Center Moriches It is a small playground with swings, you are almost always the only one there. The best part is you can see the bay from the playground. It gets a great breeze.

I like Argyle but since I don't live in that area anymore, I will probably go to the Holtsville Park/Ecology center a lot

I like Holtsville too for the zoo & the playground area.
By us: I love Tanner Park (Copaigue)b/c the park is toddler friendly w/ ramps the entire way. They also have a sprinkler park there for the summer.
Babylon Town Hall Park: Big play area w/ mats; nice pond to walk around; major flowers (great for photos).

Well, my favorite park is Central Park ( I got engaged there)
But on Long Island we go to Babylon Town Hall Park, Eisnhower park or Venetian Shores.

Heritage Park in Mt. Sinai, at the corner of North Ocean (83) and 25A. It was built a few years ago, so everything's nice & new. They have separate big & little kids playgrounds, which is nice.
The only downside is that there is practically no shade, and it gets HOT during the summer...so we usually only go early morning or late afternoon.

This park was MUCH better when *I* was a kid and the rocketship was there
I actually really like Cedar Beach in Miller Place. I like the Ecology site too, plus it is free! Can't beat that!!

Re: In honor of this beautiful day - Name your favorite park!
We live right near Tanner Park. I was down there earlier this afternoon. I think it's going to be nice when he is older and can use the water park and little beach.
I used to live in Long Beach and miss it so much this time of year!!!

We must be neighbors!
I took Ryan there last week and was a bit bummed there was only 1 baby swing.
But, when he gets older I'm sure it will be a fan favorite!

I'm in Wantagh and we have a great one at the top of our block that we love. It's not even a 5 minute walk and it's perfect for DD.

Re: In honor of this beautiful day - Name your favorite park!
We stumbled upon a park that was totally redone since I was a kid and the only people who used it were teenagers... Raynor County Beach Park on Ronkonkoma Ave. It was really nice. The playgrounds are brand new, there are great new fields and b-ball courts, and a some great trails. I bet it is beautiful in the fall.
We also love Heritage Park. We had DS's Christening Party at the hall there last summer and have been going back since then. So fun!
eta... DH and I also LOVE Avalon Park in Stony Brook for a nice walk, but it's no good with strollers. We'll have to wait until DS is a little older to take him here.
