Re: Indoor Cat Question

I dont' for my cats.
I was reading up and found some research that suggests a link between tumors and the injection sites for these vaccines.
I figure if they never go out, they really don't need it.
They got what they had to get when we adopted them, but that was it.
Thats just me though.

Re: Indoor Cat Question

I am not sure if mine still gets the CRVC shot, but I do know he no longer gets the leukemia shot.

My current veterinarian (who took over for my old vet) felt that he did not need it as he is strictly an indoor cat. Like the PP said, there are possible links between the injection site and tumors.

Re: Indoor Cat Question

My clover did not get any shots aside from the ones she left NSAL with. 18.5 years later, she's lived to tell about it! So no, I don't think it's necessary for a strictly indoor kitty that isn't around other kittys.

This is true I have heard as well. I would not get this shot for my strictly indoor cats if I had any.
