Re: Infertility Specialist

In one year I have been to -

Dr. Saketos RS of NY in Mineola
Dr. Braverman in GardenCity (consult only)
Dr. Berkeley - NYU in NYC
Dr. Zhang - New Hope Fertility in NYC
Dr. Davis - Cornell (consult only so far) in NYC

I think the best advice you can give your friend is for her to do her research and find the best doctor for what she/he has. I have high FSH, from my list only Drs Zhang and Davis are good for that - of course there are others I just haven't been to them yet Chat Icon

Re: Infertility Specialist

Dr. Alan Copperman with RMA of NY - NYC
Dr. Benjamin Sandler - same practice
Dr. Tanmoy Mukherjee - same practice

Copperman is my primary RE but have seen Dr. Sandler as well. Dr. Mukherjee performed my ER and ET and is also a great Dr.

I have NOT one complaint about this place. Everyone is different though and different RE's may specialize in different issues. Best bet is to tell your friend to do some research.

eta: I went to RSofNY in Mineola first and DH had 3 SA's done. They said all were normal. When I went to my new RE they did one SA and discovered dh had low motility, therefore we moved on to IVF and it was successful. Others have had success there, but I wouldn't recommend it there.

Re: Infertility Specialist

I am now with NSUH Center for Human Reproduction.
Dr. Rosenfeld for IUI's
Dr. Chu for IVF, as Dr. Rosenfeld no longer takes IVF patients.

Since I'm on an IVF cycle right now and go in every day I've also seen Dr. Scholl and Dr. Herschfeld.
They are all great

I previously saw Dr. Bray in Mineola. I can't recommend her or that practice, RSofNY. I was completely misdiagnosed and received the wrong/outdated treatment. My new RE accurately diagnosed me based on my old records in 5 minutesChat Icon I know other women who have success at that old practice but for personal reasons I could not in good conscious recommend them to anyone. When I went to pick up my records I saw a box of about 20 other envelopes of other patients waiting to pick up their records.

There are also at least 5 other active posters on this board who had horrible experience with RSofNY. Two girls did get pregnant on their second IUI's but there have been a lot more negaive experiences than positive.

My aunt was with Dr. Rosenfield, and got pregnant. I think my friend might try them.

They actually cannot figure out why she is not getting pregnant. He has slow motility, but they said that should factor in with IUI'S. Chat Icon

Re: Infertility Specialist

Dr. Kreiner - or whoever was covering for him when he was on vacation every time I was there (Dr. Pena, Dr. Z.....) - East Coast Fertility - I can't recommend them based on my own experiences.

Dr. Chu with NSUH - just a consult

Dr. Joel Batzofin - SIRM NYC - very happy with his knowledge, treatment, and the clinic overall.

Scheduled to see Dr. Guarrnariccia at Columbia in July to get another opinion (cant say second, not sure what # it would be at this pont!!)

Re: Infertility Specialist

Based on all the reviews, I wanted to go to NSUH, but my insurance didn't cover it.

I just had my first appointment at LI IVF and I saw Dr. Droesch and so far, I'm really happy with her. She wanted to do all the tests I've read I should have and offered more in depth explanations than what I was getting from my pervious doc. LI IVF has 3 offices: Lake Success, Melville and Port Jeff.

Re: Infertility Specialist

i am with dr. brenner at LI IVF in lake success. i absolutely love ALL of the staff there and am very pleased we picked them-hopefully they will get me pregnant with a healthy baby! i had my retrieval with dr. ruman and she was nice.

all of the nurses (who you end of dealing with more often, at times) have been amazing and patient and thorough. i have called the nurse on call in a panic a few times and they always made me feel better.

btw-dr. brenner is the chief of reproductive endocronology at LIJ, so i guess he must be pretty good.

I currently see Dr Davis at Cornell.

I previously saw Dr Kreiner and would not recommend him based on my experience.

Re: Infertility Specialist

Hi, my name is Rose and I'm currently a patient of RS of NY in Mineola...I have had 2 IVF CYCLES with no success...I feel so neglected by this facility when I have my lows that I'm losing hope!! I feel that I'M BEING JERKED AROUND...It's so hard to explain everything, but I guess I was looking for support...did you have a similar experience? I'M A HEALTHY 40 year old, recently married with no children. My husband also tested & healthy, etc.

Please advise...

Thanks,

Rose

Re: Infertility Specialist

Rosemarie...do a search of RSONY or RSNY and you will see quite a few posts related to this facility. I myself went to the one in Stonybrook (Dr. SanRoman) and I was also not happy. It seems everyone is just a number there and they have no personal relationship with their patients. After seven failed IUI's I stopped going and am about to go to LI-IVF for invitro...Ask the girls on this board, there is a lot of experience here and someone will be able to steer you in the right direction. I know that a lot of women on this board have had a lot of success with NSUH and/or Cornell.

I don't know anything about RSNY other than what I've read on this site. Regardless of opinions about RSNY and your comfort with RSNY, I think it's a good idea to get copies of all your records and get a second opinion after your IVF #1 or #2. It's a good idea to have another RE review your records and tell you what he/she would do if you were a patient there. The second opinion might concur with RSNY. I did it for peace of mind. I've learned that you really have to take charge of your own treatment.

Also, IMO, you should stay with an RE if you feel you are getting the best treatment there. If you feel that you want/have to stay because you have too much invested there to go elsewhere, I think a second opinion is a good idea.

Good luck.
