Injectable ladies... I have some questions
What exactly is the protocol while I'm on follistim? Last time my RE said that they would give me a trigger shot to ovulate (even though I usually ovulate on my own ) because most don't ovulate on their own with the follistim.
So, what happens - do I keep taking the follistim until the follies are a good size and then I trigger?
Or is there some lapse time between your last dose and the trigger?
Just curious...

Re: Injectable ladies... I have some questions
I never did Follistim; did Gonal-F. Once follies were ready, dr. advised me not to take Gonal-F that night, just the trigger.

Really? So you took the injections right up until you triggered (except the day of the trigger)?
Because my RE said, based on my ultrasound and bloodwork, I'd be doing the injections until CD10 and then stop. I can't imagine they would trigger me CD11 - that's really early for me.

Re: Injectable ladies... I have some questions
I also did gonal-f up until the trigger day. My cycles while on injectibles were nothing like my natural cycles. So, you probably can't use that to judge. Though its odd that they know the CD's now. It's based on follie size. How could they know that before you get there? Interesting. You should ask next time you go for monitoring.

I'm going to assume the follies were a pretty good size - they always tend to grow large pretty fast. I have an appointment tomorrow so I suppose I'll have a better idea then!

Re: Injectable ladies... I have some questions
I also did gonal-f up until the night before my trigger. Your body responds differently when you add meds, so your follies may be ready earlier than when you would usually O on your own... HTH! GL!!!

Re: Injectable ladies... I have some questions
I did follistim and you will inject it up to the trigger. My cycles were shortened with follistim because I was triggering on CD11. Oh, and I ovulate on my own.

Re: Injectable ladies... I have some questions
I did two shots per day (morning and evening, they split my dose up), anyway, I always would take my morning dose, then would get a call in the afternoon after my bloods came back letting me know to trigger that night.

Re: Injectable ladies... I have some questions
I did Gonal-F and Repronex then added Ganerelix. When there were several large follies I stopped everything and triggered. No pause in between. Shots on Sunday, trigger on Monday. I don't know about follistim but I assume it's similar.
