DD was 14m when DD2 was born. She was there when I gave birth. She missed her nap so she was CRANKYYYYY and cried the entire time. Brought her back the 2nd day and she was so much better and wouldnt let anyone near her Chat Icon

At home. Dd #2 was born in the late winter/early spring and Winthrop had the ban on siblings on the maternity floor. It worked out better I think.

oh I am delivering at Winthrop...so they ban siblings on the maternity floor?

They did at one point (right around the swine flu epidemic) but when I was there last Nov, I saw siblings.

I just delivered there last week and my DS was allowed to visit.

To answer the OP, DS met DD in the hospital and was curious but distant. He is 22 months.

Hospital. DS was 2 years 5 months. I was on the fence about it but I played it by ear! We decided to have him come up because he was looking for us and he wanted to meet his new baby! Chat Icon I had a section so I made sure the day he came to see us I was dressed in regular clothes and up out of bed. I also planned it for a time that I had no other visitors. My parents brought him up and the kids exchanged gifts. I took him to "buy" the baby a gift before DD was born and she gave him a new train set. I joked that she had to come bearing gifts otherwise he wasnt going to have it.

hospital, DD came to meet DS the day he was born, it was love at first sight Chat Icon

Exactly this (except I have 2 boys). My older son was 22 months when his brother was born. He was born around noon, so he came to the hospital as soon as he woke up from his nap and had lunch that day. He also came back for a few hours the next day. And my husband brought him to the hospital on the day I was discharged so we could all ride home together as a family.

Ds was 17 months old.
We did the introduction at home. I didn't want him to see me and then have to leave. He really. Had little insight to the fact dd was a person... He thought she was a cat.
