Introducing Foods - 9 months

I think this may be a stupid question, but here goes.

Ped told me to start introducing table foods to DD's diet (She is 9 months). She said to avoid eggs and whole milk until age 1. Can I still cook with these foods and give to DD (like pancakes, waffles, mashed potatoes)?

I think this is a good question. Yes, you can cook w/those foods.

Egg Whites are one of those food that are highly allergic. Most pediatricians suggest only introducing yolks prior to one year. I would wait or call the doctor and ask them about products that contain egg whites.

This site has helpful info on introducing foods with a section on eggs: Wholesome Baby Food

Here is part of what it says on eggs:
The egg whites on the other hand, contain 4 proteins that can range from mildly to highly allergenic. Most pediatricians say that egg whites/whole eggsm should not be fed to baby before 1 year of age.

If you read on it says whole eggs in baked goods are usually okay. I'm waiting before giving them to DD, but if you want to start, I'd just call the Dr and verify it.

I agree on both parts. My ped at 7 m onths said DS could have egg products but not to go and cook him an egg yet...at 9 months he was given the okay for scrambled eggs (DS was about 90% on table food by 9 months though)

I don't think that's a stupid question at all!

My ped said that since I had given DD my meatballs (that were made with eggs) that it was ok to give her scrambled eggs. So, I have and its been fine.

But, you should ask your ped.
