Is 3yr old too young for a bowling party?
Trying to think of places to have DD's 3rd birthday and was wondering if you thought 3 is too young for bowling. The kids at the party would range from 2 to 7 yrs old.
Thanks!

honest opinion, yes
I think they would lose interest rather quickly because they would need help with each ball, it's not something they can do on their own.

DS is 15 months and I just took him to a bowling get together. They have mechanisms that help the little ones bowl, you basically put it on the top of the metal frame and push the ball down and it rolls onto the lane. The ages ranged similiar to your ages and the kids had a blast!

I went to one for a 3 year old, I think it was a waste, everyone had fun but I also think we would have had the same fun with cake and a pinata back at the house for a lot less money.

Also the 3 year old was the youngest child there by a few years so we could give her the attention she needed, might not be as easy with a bunch of little ones.

Heck no!
DD isn't even 4 yet and she has been to 2 bowling parties and did the Kids Bowl Free program the last 2 summers. At that age, they put the bumpers up and give them ramps to push the ball down. It is super adorable! If you have older kids, just group them in their own lane if they don't need the bumper guards or ramps.

No way! DS is almost 4, but I wouldn't trust him with a bowling ball. He'd probably try and throw it or drop it on his foot.

Re: Is 3yr old too young for a bowling party?
DD was 3 when she went to a bowling party for a 4 year old. She LOVED it and wouldn't even use the ramp they provided for the ball. She rolled it herself every time. Played 2 full games. The bumpers were up and she was so into it as were the other kids on her lane, 6, 4 and 3.
If your DC likes bowling I'd say go for it.
ETA: DD gets PT and OT for strength and balance issues. We were terrified and didn't want to let her do it herself. We were afraid she'd fall or drop the ball on her feet but boy did she prove us wrong.

Re: Is 3yr old too young for a bowling party?
I am going to say yes...even though I have a 3yo who loves to bowl.
When we go bowling with friends ages 3-5 I would say more than 1/2 lose interest very quickly. Under the age of 3 anyone invited never even comes...
Honestly I just think there are better parties to have at that age where ALL the kids would have a good time and you would say it was money well spent

Nope! My nephews 3rd bday party was a bowling party and the kids all loved it! They had the "ramp" (medal "hill") available if kids wanted to roll the ball down the lane using that.
My DS LOVES bowling! We've been taking him since before he turned 3.
