I think it is a personal choice. I only told my 2 best friends. We have a sonogram on Monday, we might tell family if we see a healthy heartbeat. We still might wait until 12 weeks.

we told our immediate family only and a couple of friends we are extremely close too.
Everyone else we will tell after the 1st trimester.

It's such a personal choice

I think you have to make this choice for yourself. Are the people you are telling the same people you would tell if something went wrong? Then I would tell them. If something were to happen and you don't think you could handle telling people, then don't tell people now.

For us, we told parents, siblings and a few close friends after 6 weeks. We knew we would want to share the good news with them as early as possible and also get support from them should something go awry. We aren't telling anyone else until 14 weeks.

We told family nearly immediately. We wanted them to be able to pray for us and enjoy good news. If anything happens, we don't want them finding out when its bad news.
