All the time, I think it is ridiculous but I think it would be cute if it was once and awhile.

I do not see the big deal, I personally would not do it, but I do not think there is anything wrong with it at all and I certainly would not be shocked over it

Re: Is 9 months old too young for a mani pedi with mummy ??
I'm confused... was she also getting a mani/pedi for the 9 month old too???
If not, I don't see any big deal with her taking her daughter to the nail salon while she got her mani/pedi. As long as the baby was behaving.
The only thing I don't get is why would you get a mani if you have to deal with a 9 month old? I think that she may end up messing up the mani having to hold the baby or put the baby back into the car.

even so, I just am not sure why you or anyone would care about something like that
her child, if she wants to take her to get a mani/pedi, so be it
I just don't understand how and why this would concern you at all

Thats too much for me...Not neccesary , a bit rididculous and while others probably dont believe as I do, I think its dangerous as well.
Nail polish contains phthalates which has been shown to cause cancer in animals...and a baby's nails at that age are not yet strong and thick which means any chemicals leach into their fingers more quickly ...

Hmmmm... who am I to judge. But personally, I would not get a mani/pedi for a baby that young. I would be afraid of them sucking on their fingers and eating the nail polish. But I'm sure it looks cute!

I agree....I cant keep my son's fingers out of his mouth. I would be so worried about her eating the polish.

Re: Is 9 months old too young for a mani pedi with mummy ??
I'm sorry but thats way too young. Like Donna said nail polish has a lot of chemicals and at that age babies are constantly putting their feet and hands in their mouth...too dangerous.

IMO, it's unsafe, for the same reasons that have been pointed out. And I wouldn't have wanted my DD to breathe in the fumes either.

I think that's a bit harsh.
The OP was just shocked by what she saw, as i would be too!!!!
I'm sorry... but that is just completely absurd! Yes i'm judging. I said it. I don't care either.

I would NEVER. Not even an older child. You can get nail infections that way, not good idea at all, esp such a young child.

Re: Is 9 months old too young for a mani pedi with mummy ??
My DD is 7 months and I can't imagine taking her to get her nails done, now or in 2 months. First, her nails are so tiny where do you even put the polish? second, I would be concerned since her hands are always in her mouth. I wouldn't want them putting anything like polish on them, or using a nail file/nail cutter that has been used on other people.

Re: Is 9 months old too young for a mani pedi with mummy ??
I think that their are way worse abuses out there TBH and that I would probably think that it was odd, and I probably wouldn't do it, but I also don't think that it is worth judging a mom for doing it either...

exactly! i personally dont even get mani/pedi's because of all the chemicals involved, plus the scare of getting an infection.

Re: Is 9 months old too young for a mani pedi with mummy ??
I personally feel that is absolutely RIDICULOUS! A two year old~ok, a 9 month old~a bit too much. I also agree that it is not safe for such a young baby...they put everything in their mouth...I mean why would anybody do this?

ITA! The chemicals in nail polish are dangerous. I wouldnt want my baby sucking on her fingers with polish on them and as you said, it can leach into their skin.

Re: Is 9 months old too young for a mani pedi with mummy ??
yes!
I hope she brings her own file and not the "common" file used on everyone else also.
Nail polished have chemicals. They chip.
Also nail polish while smooth to the bare eye is not smooth. It has tiny groove under the microscope and traps dirt/bacteria. This is one of the reasons I am not allowed to wear it for my work.
They could be using creams with ingreadient not for her age group.
What next? Let's wax your fuzz, facials for infants, perms for infant... she will be old enough soon to do all of those.
