Is anyone a NYS Notary Public?
I am taking the test Tuesday & I have a few questions...
1) Is the test hard?
2) Do I need anything else but my driver's license & pencil. That is all it says on the website, but a friend of mine said she needed two forms of ID.
3) where did you get sample test questions (like from the year before) online? When I googled it, all of this "pay us for the test questions" links came up. I know there is a site somewhere online that has sample test questions for free.
TIA

Re: Is anyone a NYS Notary Public?
I don't remember much about it as it was a long time ago. It was harder than I expected but still not hard.
The website says only one form of id: http://www.dos.state.ny.us/lcns/exams/July-Dec2007/notary-public.htm
I don't know where to get test questions. I took a course ahead of time. I do know that on my exam there was a lot of focus on real estate & wills.
One thing I clearly remember in the course I took is the instructor telling us that we must be on time. If you're late, the door is locked & you're waiting for the next test. (I got pulled over because I was late & that was my excuse).
Good luck!

Thanks Barb! I took the course too, but lost the paper with the sample questions on it
Dh is out with Grace so I can study and I need those questions. I work in the title industry so the RE & Wills questions should not be a problem. Thanks for the tip about being late, I am going to leave my house really early.

Re: Is anyone a NYS Notary Public?
1. Whether the test is hard is relative. I am in the legal field so quite honestly it was pretty easy for me. 2. You only need one form of id. They also take your thumb print as identification. I brought two pencils but they handed them out at the exam and the lady MADE me take one of hers. 3. I never saw free online test questions. I only had the study at home course test questions.
The main thing you want to study are the definitions. There were ALOT of definitions. There is a question about safe deposit boxes. Alot of legal terminology. Good Luck!

Thank you!!!! I emailed my professor (from the course I took) for a copy of the question sheet that I lost. My studying right now is all over that place and I need those questions to give me some direction. ARRGGGHHHHH I cannot believe I lost that question sheet! Hopefully the prof will email me tonight and I can study after Grace is in bed.
Thanks for all the advice ladies I really appriciate it!

I don't remember the questions but it was okay. Not too hard but definitely not that easy.

Re: Is anyone a NYS Notary Public?
I am a Notary, but I took the test about 7 years ago so I don't remember what I had to bring with me. At the time it probably was just a drivers license.
I didn't think it was difficult, I used the study guide they give you with the application, it may have had sample questions in it...
good luck!

Its a lot of questions about identifying people. There is a book at the test location you can look over-get there early
