Spinoff: Notary Public... Perks?
June's post about being a Notary got my wheels turning again. A few years ago, I came close to doing it, but it just fell down on my list of priorities.
Anyway, I'm thinking about doing it again, but I'm wondering about the perks. Besides being a HUGE convenience, what are the perks of being a Notary?
TIA!!!

Re: Spinoff: Notary Public... Perks?
Not many perks, except that it is an additional service I can offer my clients. As an attorney, I didn't have to take the test. I am hoping that my assistant will, as the need arises so often. It was a definite plus on any resume I received when I was hiring my assistant, but I picked someone who is not yet a notary.

I am only a Notary bc my last boss forced me to be one. If there are any perks, I have yet to discover them.

Re: Spinoff: Notary Public... Perks?
i used to be a notary in ny (moved).
like all the others have stated, no real perk. just something i used to be able to put on my resume. at the time, i worked for h&r block. the perk was that i didn't turn people away.

Thanks for your responses!
As a teacher, this may be good to have. I'm SURE I could use it on a weekly basis at work.
