is everyone still sanitizing like crazy?

I have noticed that i have stopped sanitizing so much meaning I don't wipe down my door knobs and light switches every day.

I was washing my hands i felt like at least every 20 minutes but now not as often.

Don't get me wrong if i go out I use my hand sanitizer and wash hands when i get home.

my DH is stripping in the garage still but at this point I am kind over it and don't care its more him.

Am I the only one who is starting to become somewhat lax?

I just think at this point its not going to go away and things need to just start slowly going back to normal. I cant keep obsessing over not getting it.

I must admit that I wan't sanitizing like crazy from the beginning. We're pretty much staying home and not going anywhere but the supermarket. But, we don't wipe every grocery item down. We're really just living like we did before, but staying home.

I never sanitized like crazy, I actually never sanitized at all. I did wash my hands throughly when getting home but that’s something I always did before covid.

i thought it was a little over board but I did it and I am over it!!
trying to get my DH to relax a little also!

since i leave my home every day for work... i strip down and shower as soon as i walk in the door... because there is an elderly person in my home.

also, because my work environment can be dusty/dirty, i'm always washing my hands (even before the pandemic).

other than these two things, i'm doing things the way i always have.

I never really did.
I mean maybe I did wash my hands more often, and ESPECIALLY after being in a store or out in public- but I always sanitized my hands after being in a store before all this- because they are just gross.
We never wiped down groceries and we never took our clothes off when we got home or anything like that.
My DH is the most lax person on the planet when it comes to this.
Even more lax than me.

But yes, that level of vigilance is very hard to maintain long term- it just becomes exhausting.

I live by myself, so pretty much just doing the same as I always have. I am more careful about washing my hands when I have been somewhere and wiping down the counters after I've brought groceries home, but otherwise, pretty much the same as always

I live by myself and no one else is allowed in. I work from home and only go out to the supermarket. I wipe down anything I touched when coming home and wipe down groceries. Then I wash my hands. I do regular cleaning, but I don’t need to go crazy since I’m alone and it’s only my germs and I wash my hands when coming in. It’s been over a month, so I think I’m OK by now.

I never really sanitized like crazy, only in the circumstances when someone from outside our home was here. I never wiped my groceries. And I didn't make my mail or packages sit outside for a day like some friends do. And now the CDC is saying you didn't have to anyway.

The main things we did was wash our hands whenever we came into the house.

I never did since I didn't have any reasons to. I would wash my hands when I got home. The only time I do it is if someone comes over (I had foundation people and a plumber come over last week). We're all wearing masks and I watch to see what they touch while in the house. Then I wipe everything down when they leave. But other than that, I'm not wiping anything since it's just me.

Since I don’t leave my house more than once a week, I do not go crazy sanitizing. I wipe down my garage door knob once a week and the light switch right near the garage entry door 1-2 times per week. I only wash my hands after the bathroom and before I eat and when I come back from my weekly shopping trip.

In the beginning, I was a crazy person. I was wiping down knobs, handles, car doors, steering wheels, door bells and the mailbox every day, sometimes multiple times a day. I was lysoling packages on the front steps and leaving them out there for days or dismantling them like a bomb using tongs and a knife. DH is an essential worker so I had this whole procedure he had to follow.

Now, like you, it's on him to strip and shower. I wipe down things when I think about it. I still wipe down all the groceries but as I was doing it the other day I was thinking how extra it is. I am still lysoling packages but then I pick it up it's barehanded and then I just wash my hands. I still sanitize when I come home from being out but I'm definitely more lax.

I never really sanitized much to begin with. I wash my hands after coming in from outside and after bringing packages in. My husband is an essential worker so he undresses, showers and washes his clothes before he comes into contact with our toddler and twins.

No. We just wash our hands as we normally would and I do it more after my grocery store trips. I will wipe our doors/ faucets/lights/remotes etc occasionally but nobody has been in the house but us. I don’t wipe my groceries at all. And also, since stores haven’t had cleaning products for months, I need to ration what I have.

Yep, like a crazy person! I think I do more as time goes on!

So, I don't really GO anywhere. DH is an essential worker in a hospital and we are taking precautions (he is not patient facing and changes/showers when he comes home). I didn't wipe down groceries, packages. We just wash our hands well after unpacking (DH goes to the store for me). If we go outside, we wear masks if we can't social distance. Always sanitize getting in and out of car, etc.
However, my neighbor across the street was wiping down everything, wearing gloves, not going out, etc, etc. This weekend she went to a few grocery stores and followed all rules. One was an ethnic store and she said the patrons were not following rules. She was shocked & annoyed. I saw her DH outside yesterday and it appears she has the virus-- she is coughing, has a 102+ fever, feels awful....she went to get tested yesterday. Is it possible she contracted it over the weekend and symptoms showed that quickly? Because she was one of the most extremely cautious people I had spoken to....until this weekend I guess?

I wipe down all of our commonly shared surfaces and still wash hands a lot. But, I've always been that way. I've never sprayed my packages or wiped down my groceries though.

I have always been very OCD when it came to germs so for me nothing has changed.

No. I didn’t go crazy initially though. I still have adequate Lysol’s wipes. I’ve been using those more sparingly and going through my all purpose cleaner more...

I never was. I would wash my hands etc. I wasn’t even wearing a mask until they made it mandatory if you couldn’t do the social distancing thing.
