Is it ok for me to just change her bedtime? Updated
I mean, I'm sure she won't sleep any later in the morning, but I am starting to think a change is needed. I don't think she's liking going to bed while it's still light out. I'd be thrilled if I can get her bedtime even a half hour later to 7:30 because I feel like we can't do anything in the evenings now. So, should I just do it?

It's worth trying. I know what you mean my DD is dead asleep by 6:30. If I don't get her in the crib, she is a terror! Not worth it for me but if Ava is manageable then I think try it. Good luck! Let us know what you decide and how it turns out.

Re: Is it ok for me to just change her bedtime?
I've just noticed that she used to be dead tired at 7, and now, she seems to still have steam. I guess it's worth trying. I'll let you know how it goes tomorrow! She did go down at 7 tonight, but with a little bit of a fuss, so we'll see.

brendan has been staying up later too. i think the longer daylight has partly contributed to it. as long as she's not cranky, why not? i've actually found that keeping him up later has made him a better napper during the day. i guess he needs to make up for it somewhere.

We "just did it" recently and switched from 7:30 to 8pm. DH wanted to be able to spend more time with her in the evening . It worked out fine for us and she adjusted quickly. She still wakes up at the same time.

Re: Is it ok for me to just change her bedtime?
Both my kids have later bedtimes and it works really well for us. They sleep 8-8 (DD) and 9-9 (DS). Gives us more chances to do something together after dinner.

Re: Is it ok for me to just change her bedtime?
we noticed some extra steam as well.....so we just go upstairs at the same time (or relatively) and if she doesn't give us her signs, then we keep on playing/reading.
Now bedtime ranges from 7-almost 8 but usually around the 7:30 mark is it for her!

Re: Is it ok for me to just change her bedtime?
Well, I kept her up until 7:30 tonight, and even without a nap this afternoon, she really did great. We even went out to the store after dinner, which NEVER happens. I'm so happy I decided to keep her up. That extra half hour doesn't seem like a long time, but it's the difference between coming home and rushing through our evening routine and us actually enjoying the evening. She went to sleep without a peep.

Yay!! I'm glad it worked out. I have the opposite problem: Lily goes to bed too late (between 9-9:30.) I'd be thrilled with 7:30. Maybe someday...

This is Marron too. And this week she has been getting up at 6:45 (whereas she used to sleep til 7:30-8)!! AND she is not napping during the day like she used to!!

Re: Is it ok for me to just change her bedtime? Updated
We actually had to do this with Ellie just recently. She just cried so much when we put her down at 7:30 so we tried waiting til 8pm and for 4 days in a row she went down w/o a peep. She doesn't sleep any later in the morning but she's happier at night.
