Is it ok to have an early RSVP date?
The twins party is Oct 2nd....I made the RSVP date Sept 13th...its 19 days or 2 and 1/2 weeks before.
Because of the sheer # of people invited...we could have a lot of no's and with 3 kids...getting all the party supplies...food etc is gonna take me some time...so I need enough time to order stuff etc....
But a few have said the RSVP is too early?

I don't think its too early. If you are good person who RSVPs right away, the date won't matter, right?

I think it is fine, I usually make my rsvp date 2 weeks before so the extra couple of days to me is fine...that gives you time to hound the people that don't respond!

I think it's ok. I did get a baby shower invite that asked for the rsvp 3 weeks before and I have to admit I was like wow but I understand the planning behind a christening event (favors, entertainment etc..)

I always make RSVP dates to be 2 weeks before the party date.

I don't think it's that early for an RSVP date, especially in the summer when people are planning vacations and a lot of other social events.

I always make RSVPs at least 2 weeks before the party, so I don't think an extra few days is too early.

YOu've seen my rants-I had a 10 day RSVP date and people just ignored it.
I've heard it's a southern thing.
I think 2.5 weeks is fine-I agree about the ordering. I put in a final order at oriental trading today and had to pay for expedited shipping
