is it ok to NOT do favors for a christening?

I just saw another post about favors and it freaked me out because I wasn't planning on doing them! As it is we are spending so much money on this event. Will people expect them??

You do not have to. We did because we wanted to give the guests something to show our appreciation.

I think it depends on your family. In mine - I would never not do favors. But, I'm sure not all are like this.

I wasn't planning on it, but then I caved and did candy bars.

I think it depends on your family.

I hate favors. I wouldn't worry about it.

We had flowerpots on the tables and told people to take them home if they needed a favor.

I didn't do them for DS.

For DD's coming up, I am doing chocolate lollipops. Mainly because I like to eat them! Chat Icon

But seriously, no one notices if you don't have them. It's not necessary.

Re: is it ok to NOT do favors for a christening?

I know people always feel compelled to do favors but I've never left a party where there wasn't one thinking "oh, where the hekk is my favor. what a lame party"

I wouldn't worry about it if you didn't plan on doing favors.

Re: is it ok to NOT do favors for a christening?

Spent $30 on my favors - using AC More coupons, just did mints in tins, printed labels that came with tins myself and gluegunned a bow on each tin. They came out very cute - did with my mother and she actually did most of it...Chat Icon
