Is it too late to plant a tree?

We need shade on one side of our house where there are no trees. I'd like to plan one or two. I know it is best to plant in early spring or in the fall, but we just had our second daughter 10 days ago...planting trees wasn't on our agenda! Is it too late in the season to plant them now?

It's too hot now. Get a sun umbrella and wait for the Fall to plant.
