Re: Is Jones Beach Air Show still on if it rains?
From Newsday:
Despite early light rain at Jones Beach, the second day of the Bethpage Air Show at Jones Beach is expected to go on as planned, organizers said Sunday -- traditionally the busier of the two-day extravaganza.
The rain is expected to clear late morning, with a chance of more rain and possible thunderstorms later Sunday afternoon, according to a weather briefing for pilots by aviation authorities.
The Canadian Snowbirds kicked off their scheduled practice run shortly after 9 a.m., but did a so-called flat show, flying at a lower attitude due to the weather.
Depending on the weather throughout the day, organizers said, different acts could be canceled, shuffled or delayed as necessary.
Spectators began streaming in through the Central Mall area of the Beach at about 8 a.m., with vehicles backed up at the toll booths.
The air show today is from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. The show is free. Parking at the state park is $10.
On Saturday, performing stunts that left many spectators speechless, the Navy's precision-flying team entertained a crowd estimated at 181,000 people .
Kicking off beach season, the crowds, lured by sunshine and steamy temperatures in the mid-80s, attended the first half of the two-day event. The Memorial Day weekend crowd was short of the Saturday record of 207,000 set in 2007. Only 98,000 people attended last year, when the headline act, the Air Force Thunderbirds, couldn't appear.

Re: Is Jones Beach Air Show still on if it rains?
We were there by 8:30 and stayed until around 12ish. It was pouring when we first arrived, but it cleared and the sun was blazing high in the sky.
Would've stayed longer but DS needed to nap and we're going to a BBQ this afternoon.
