Is not being able to sleep a side effect of either Albuterol or Prednisone?
DS has been on this since Sat for RSV and he has been up since 4AM every morning and buzzing around like the tazmanian devil all day with only a 30 minute nap.
This is the last day he needs his medicine.
Please say once he gets off the Prednisone and Albuterol he will go back to sleeping.
Momma is .

Yes, it is a stimulant. Be careful to time it so that it can wear off before bed!

They both are. My kids didn't seem to ave a problem with it. However-I wa son prednisone for the first 14 weeks of my pregnancy so maybe they were used to it. Like BigB said-time it so they get it way before bed.

Maybe THIS is why James is waking up in the middle of the night now! Holy crap, I never even thought it could be the Albuterol!
We give him a treatment right before bed at 9, he goes to sleep right away, but has been waking at 1-ish since the weekend (when we started with the nebulizer).
I thought maybe it was a growth spurt - maybe it is, combined with the neb? He's been refusing his naps as well!

Yes - Albuterol does this. Jack runs around like a crazy monkey after a treatment. I try to do it at least an hour before bed.

Yes that's totally the cause. I know even as an adult when I am on that stuff, I get the shakes and find it hard to sleep.
