Is the flu running rampant in your school???
22 kids sent home yesterday with flu like symptoms and 54 out Friday....most with flu like symptoms. Today we have to put our desks in rows to "increase space between children"........it's way TOOOOOO early in the school year for this....I am starting to freak out a little anyone else have this going on in their school???

We've had a lot of kids out lately as well. The school keeps sending home letters begging parents to keep their kids home if they have a fever so they don't spread it. There has been talk to moving the students' desks further apart too.

Our school just went through it the week before and the week of halloween. It was good because Nov. 2&3 were conferences, so the kids had a 4 day weekend, now the whole school is pretty much back to normal now...luckily I never got sick...

It's fine by me... at least in my class, with just 10 kids!
I had one out last week and I think he may have had swine... The mother says he didn't, yet she kept him out a whole week and he had a fever of 102-103, terrible cough, vomiting, diarrhea, very lethargic.... ummm that sounds like swine to me! Parents. 
At the table where that kid sits, I had 2 others out toward the end of last week...... but now we are good again! And, the "swine kid" is back! 
I probably had it last year, so I'm not TOO worried..... for now at least.

It is definitely in my school. The principal said it is but we have not hit the 'level yet that we HAVE to make it known, pubically.' 
I know the teacher 2 doors down from me tested positive for H1N1. But he doesn't want to make this public

Same thing at my school. I think the kids really needed that long weekend - a bunch actually had it over that weekend.
I, unfortunately, did get the flu also and had to cancel all of my Monday conferences. Making them up has not been fun.

IM not a teacher but I go to college most of my teachers either cancel class this week or let us go earlier BC they were sick.

I don't know WHAT is going around my school, but in one of my groups today (I teach small groups) 6 of my 9 students were absent, and one of the ones who was there was coughing all over the place! I am like the hand washing police...

LOTS of sick kids, lots of absences. Not sure if it is the flu or just colds going around.
