is there a baby toy remote control or laptop?
DS loves to eat the remote..... and my laptop.... shocking, I know
His fascination with the remote is astounding He will do virtually anything to get it.... frequently we'll turn around for a minute and look back and it's in his mouth, and PAX or home shopping is then on the TV
I think it might be a bit better to get him his own remote... anyone ever see one? I can't find one on amazon.....
Alternatively, a toy laptop (not inserted into an activity table)?

I know I've seen toy remotes and laptops. Problem is...somehow they always know it's a toy and want the real one! I guess the trick is to find one that looks realistic!

Re: is there a baby toy remote control or laptop?
yeah, I've seen them too.... except now, when I'm looking for one
the laptop idea I'm going to ditch pretty soon.... all the ones I saw don't even look remotely close to a real laptop... they are basically activity tables with a laptop shape... plays music and lights up... not what DS generally likes.

We have bought several toy remotes for DS, and he still always goes to the real one....we wound up giving him an old one without the batteries

We do the same thing. I've taken some of our remotes/electronics that are outdated and removed the batteries and springs. DS happily plays with them. He refuses to play with "fake" electronics!

Same...when wil the toy companies simply make items in plain old black like the real thing? They spend all this time making them in kid colors and with lights yet DS knows the difference and only wants the real ones!

I think most of the laptop toys are the educational type ones for toddlers and up. I haven't seen an infant one.
We had an Elmo remote and Elmo cell phone....both collected dust since they look nothing like the real thing!

They have toy remotes at target....there is even an elmo one. DD was never fooled though and usually threw the toy one and went to the real one. We actually wound up taking an old remote and giving it to her.....without the batteries. Sometimes that fools her, sometimes not!

Just buy a cheapo universal remote from Radio Shack, Walmart, or Target and don't put any batteries in it.

We have a V-tech lap top. I also know of people to give DC old remotes w/no batteries. S2BX doesn't like toy remotes, phones, computers b/c he thinks DC won't know the difference between the toys and the real ones.

Re: is there a baby toy remote control or laptop?
dd is obsessed with my laptop, iphone, the house phone, and of course, the remote control for the tv too.
we bought her a toy remote control, and that wore off in about an hour, lol. i even gave her my old cell phone, and she could care less about it, its the iphone for her or nothing! my laptop i usually cant even use in front of her without her going insane trying to touch it. now i try to only use it when she is asleep if at all possible, but sometimes i have to! the other day i was just finishing up something on it, and she just woke up, so i put her on the couch with me. she went right for the laptop while i was typing, and in a matter of seconds, she managed to pull off one of the keys off, i couldnt believe it! totally my fault for letting her near it, but she has been near it b4 and usually will just try and press the keys, this time she just wanted to pull them all off,

Re: is there a baby toy remote control or laptop?
Emerson LOVES our remotes, cells, and laptop as well. I got her this adorable baby laptop from V-Tech for like $15. The screen has all these red blinking lights, it has a mouse, keyboard, and it sings songs and teaches letters and stuff. She loves it. We keep it next to our laptop so when we're on the computer she's on hers!
