I REALLY like the presentation and punch of a french onion soup for a holiday dinner.
is this Christmas eve or day? christmas eve you could also go the fish route and make a nice creamy lobster or oyster bisque. or maybe butternut squah??

What are you serving with it?
I like the idea of a bisque or a creamy cauliflower soup.
French onion sounds good to but do you have bowls to bake them in with melted cheese?

LOL I still have not narrowed down my menu. Italian or a roast/rib of some sort....I have never attempted to cook a roast and for some reason I am scared.
I have a split pea recipe, but I was thinking more of a bisque/cream recipe. something to start the meal off as different and special.
