I see it all the time. I'm a germaphob and I won't even touch the door to leave without paper towels since I KNOW people don't wash their hands and have to touch the handle. I don't touch the papertowel thing either, I take some towels before I start washing my hands then I use the clean towels to shut the water off and to get more towels without having to touch that stuff.

I know I go over board, but hey-I never get sick and I love when people look at me like I have 10 heads

I know another LIF'er who does the same thing!

it is so gross. it happens all the time in my office. we have 6 stalls and 3 sinks that work and it just amazes me the # of women that don't wash their hands. i use a paper towel to open those doors cause ewwwwwwwwww i don't want to touch where they've touched without washing.

I personally love the 'fake out'. They turn on the water like they are going to wash, don't bother even getting their hands wet and then towel off. I just don't understand why you would take the time to go through the motions without actually washing?

I also see people fix their hair or make up without washing. It skeeves me out SOOOO badly that they are running their pooty hands through their hair!!!

Keep in mind I'm playing devil's advocate here, but maybe these particular people have extremely dry hands that can become exacerbated when washed too often. I have this problem and I drink a lot at work. Therefore, I go to the bathroom almost every hour. Because I'm a little OCD I wash my hands and then have to moisturize immediately afterward. Of course, because my hands are so dry I still suffer the consequences. The only reason I wash them is because I'm paranoid about getting sick.

Possible... but why bother faking? Why run the water and 'dry' your hands if you aren't going to wash them?

Maybe I'm a little uptight but I really do find it a little nauseating to poo or pee and wipe yourself and then run your hands through your hair without washing.

Then again - I do things that I know other people would find nasty!

I love the girl I work with who is sooo germophobic and touches everything with paper towles, but doesn't use a toilet seat cover and sits bare-@ssed on the throne.

I have eczema on my hands and its MUCH worse when I wash my hands a lot, I also pee a lot, and to be honest, I don't wash my hands every single time because its quite painful for me.

Unless I have come in contact with my minge, I don't always wash my hands.

Thats the truth!

They probably fake it because of people (like some here) who get all freaked out by them not washing their hands.

Thats gross!! I wash my hands after and throw the paper towel away, then grab another one to open the door with on the way out! I'm a big germaphobe though--haha!

Some people probably feel like they don't have to wash up after since they are only touching themselves so there not dirty.....which is nasty!!!

there is a fellow nurse at work who NEVER washes her hands after using the bathroom. i've said something to her and she continues to not wash her hands. i'm sorry but i think its just nasty to not wash your hands after you use the toilet. just think of all the things you touch throughout the day and how much other people's non-washed hands have touched it also...skeeves me right out

Get yourself a big bottle of antibacterial gel stuff, squirt a big dollop on the door handle as you are leaving. Watch their reaction as they open the door, then politely tell them to wash their hands as you have no idea what it could be. Double duty takes care of lots of problems.

after i wash my hands, i use the paper towel to dry my hands, turn off the water and open the door. i uslly bring the paper towel out of the room with me so i don't have to touch anything.... unless the waste basket is next to the door.... maybe thats whatthey did?

I always use the santizer back at my desk but I will use a papertowel to open the door knob....

I don't want to spread people's cooties throughout my own home... or even worse.. to DS I sure these people never wash their hands in general... they leave home, go to work, press elevator buttons, touch handrails, go to the bathroom... then eat a sandwich

I have horrible dry skin on my hands it hurts it's so dry. I always wash my hands but make sure I dry my hands completly. I do take the paper towel back to my desk with me. As soon as I get back to my desk I bathe in Lotion

Even if I go in a public bathroom just to check makeup, whatever, I still wash my hands bc I touched the door handle etc...its skeeves me.

skeevy habbit....

dh has a friend who when he uses the bathroom, dh hears a flush then almost immediate opening of the door so we KNOW hands arent being washed.....ewwwww.. so it makes me have to wash my hands more around the house if i touch anything he did.... im guessing we're going to break out the purel as a mandatory thing for anyone holding

I dont wash my hands....I hate the sinks in public restrooms..they gross me out.

I use Purell instead....


Ive often wondered if anyone was paying attention and thought that I wasnt washing my hands. I guess they are....

I always do and it grosses me out bigtime not too...but I always wonder why people make such a fuss over it?

First off Pee is STERILE...so its pretty much the most germ free thing there is....and theres just as many germs on a door handle or an elevator button etc.

I mean, Dont get me wrong, ALL FOR insisting hands be washed, I just find the absolute horror of it kinda funny.
