Gerber onesies....They run really small. Get the Carter's ones.

I don't like the Target brand clothing or Kohl's brand clothing. I found they weren't made that well.

Bottle warmer...never used it.

Re: Items/Brands NOT worth getting

I never used a bottle or wipe warmer. I mostly nursed but DS learned to drink cold and/or room temp bottles from the beginning. I was always out and about so it was easier for us. Same thing with the wipes, I never wanted him to get used to it and scream when he had a cold/room temp wipe on his tush.
DS never took a pacifier (believe me, I tried them all!)

Things that are/were a must for us:
travel swing
bouncy seat
boppy (for nursing)
peg perego high chair
travel booster seat - you would be amazed by how many places do not have a high chair with straps!

Honeslty, I was not a fan of the wipes warmer. I used it maybe once and that was it.

Me either. I gave it away. I never used it once.

And I love my wipe warmer. I couldn't live without it. I think DD appreciates it on those chilly winter mornings.

I know reviews are mixed, but my rainforest swing is garbage and I am trying to get Fisher Price to give me a new one.

I thought i was the only one!!! I hate that darn swing.

I LOVE dd's wipe warmer and she now cries if i touch her with a cold one.

i would say avoid the bouncy seat dd hates it b.c its not stimulating enough.

dd loves her jumper

i love my stroller. I swore i would have a c-section so i went for a lighter stroller (i got a graco one in Devon) b.c i knew i would have to lift it in and out of my truck.

hated that swing as well, we actually exchanged it once because it stopped working, the other one was garbage as well though...

I love my bottle warmer and use the crap out of that thingChat Icon

Definitely a bouncer....my best purchase for DD ever.

Don't use the Boppy too much and I agree with the other poster about Gerber onesies running small.

I have to give props to my Graco Lovin Hug swing. I've had it for 3 months use it consistently and it's still running on the batteries we installed before DD was born.

Total waste
- Gerber onesies. Runs too small and shrinks like crazy
- crib bumper and comforter. Never used it. I am paranoid with suffocation
- buying too many clothes in one size. DS outgrew his clothes in no time.

Not used much
- Bumbo seat. He does not find it "comfortable".

Re: Items/Brands NOT worth getting

I loved some of the things people hated....
We still use the bottle warmer. at the beginning, Lily refused to drink cold formula (such a baby!) So it was a lifesaver...and so much quicker than waiting for it to warm up in a cup of hot water.
I LOVE the Diaper Dekor that we have. I have never had a smell escape from there...and it's not emptied every day!
She loved the Bumbo, and so did we - until she figured out how to turn around in it and would get all twisty.
She loves her exersaucer and jumperoo.

I didn't use the bouncer that much...only for posing her for pictures really. So it looks like she loved it!
Never used a Miracle Blanket, so I can't say anything about them.

HA!! I am the total opposite!

We like the plain, white Gerber onesies, they are good as undershirts. DS is a skinny thing, so we use the crap out of them. He is still in the 6-9 ones and he will 10 months next week.

I don't use my comfortor, but we have the bumpers in, but they are a little thinner than a lot of ones on the market these days.

DS wears his clothes for a long time. He wore NB until 4 months and still fits into Carters 6 month PJs at almost 10 months old. We definately got use out of everything.

We didn't use our bebe pod that much after about 5-6 months because he was leaning out of it.

I am surprised that no one recommended the bjorn, I love that thing. I just gave mine to my BFF yesterday.

I HATED the diaper genie. I actually gave it away!!

ITA,... Diaper champ is better, but once the poop starts stinking, I am not sure anything can helpChat Icon

Im not a fan of the diaper champ, every time i flip the lid like your supposed to and it would get jammed up. Sooo annoying, now dh and i just lift the lid and toss in instead of the flip thing.. which is the main point of the stupid thing.

I LOVE the baby bjorn. I also could not do without my video monitor and my angelcare monitor.

I do not like the gerber onesies at all. My son is wearing 12 month clothes, and the 18 month onesies are too small. It's crazy!

Re: Items/Brands NOT worth getting

I hate Gerber onesies. And yet people keep buying them for us. I've been using a size up for undershirt.

I love our wipes warmer. DD hated the cold wipes. She would cry every diaper change, now she doesn't mind at all.

Didn't get bottle warmer or sterilizer. I just use warm water in a cup to warm bottles.

DD likes the bouncy seat, but she;s not too crazy about the arch that has the music and toys (rainforest bouncer). She can only take it for a few minutes. So we just use it without that piece.

And I can't say whether she likes the swing or not, she usually fusses when we put her in it, but it does eventually put her to sleep.

Re: Items/Brands NOT worth getting

My advice is what works for one may not work for you..... Try stuff on your own. There are so many things that DS#1 hated that DS#2 loved and vice versa.

Wipes warmer biggest waste..... Just put the wipe in your hand for a few sec to take the chill out. Why get the baby used to hot wipes, what will you do when you are out?

Loved the Boppy, used it to prop the kids up when we were sitting on the couch or on the bed.

I loved our bottle warmer when I used RTF formula with my first son. It had a cooling compartment, so I would just bring up the bottles I needed for the night. I hated the idea of having to go downstairs to the fridge in the middle of the night.

Re: Items/Brands NOT worth getting

I wish I bought the manual Avent pump instead of the electric one because I hardly ever use it and the suction is weak on automatic compared to manual. I could have saved $100.

Gerber onesies, washcloths, pjs, burp cloths they SHRINK like crazy and aren't very durable and very thin.

I agree, I am giving away all the gerber clothes I had - DS didn't wear most of them.

I don't have a wipes warmer, bottle sterilizer or warmer either. He would have to have cold wipes away from home, so why bother warming them at home? DS will drink formula straight from the fridge, so after a few weeks, I didn't even bother heating the bottles anymore. And, I just wash everything in very hot water (I do sterilize them the first time I use them.)

I too liked a lot of things other mom's hated.

Loved the bebepod chair and so did DD.
I totally still use my wipe warmer.
I have no complaints with my dipaer champ.
I NEVER used my boppy. For me it was a waste. But then again I had my first DD way before the boppy was invented so I'm old school. I just rather hold the baby instead of using the boppy.
