It's A Girl :
Hi, this is Bill, Melissa Savage's (melbernai) husband. She asked me to post this for her :)
We had a baby girl, Emily Elizabeth, at 3:03pm Thursday October 4th. She was 9 lbs 10 oz, and 19-1/2 inches long. She's so cute~!
Everything went well with the surgery and Melissa seems to be fine.
After a a few hours in the main nursery, they took Emily out of the main-viewing area into the special care section. The doctor told us it was because her breathing was too rapid. He said it could be just fluid in the lungs as a transient thing, from not having the fluid "squeezed out" through vaginal birth; fluid in the lungs from an infection;or something more serious with the heart or lungs. Before I had to leave tonight the doctor told me that the X-rays looked fine, and that it's probably just a transient thing.
Because of all this, and that she was in triage for so long waiting for a room, Melissa hasn't held the baby yet, and only saw her for about 2 minutes right after she was born. I took a picture for her, but hopefully she will see her in person tomorrow.
Thanks for all the support and friendship you've all given Melissa, she really appreciates it. I had to promise her I'd update here when i got home!
I'll try and get back on tomorrow night to update more--
