It's done...I closed on my house
I closed on my house on 9/12. While the relief of not carrying the burden of the bills is liberating, it's a bittersweet end to seven years of my life. I put my heart and soul (as well as my family did) into that house and it's incredibly difficult to let it go Amber is soo confused and doesn't understand why she can't "go home" 
For those who went through a divorce and sold a home, how do you get through the 1st few days? I had a panic attack that made me pass out after the closing and I'm still very, very shaky physically I feel so displaced

If you ever need to talk I am here, you are making a great new life for your daughter and yourself. Amber has a great roll model of a strong independant woman. Everyday will get easier.

Answer is time...it's so hard sweetie...I completely understand how you are feeling. Try to stay centered and remember why this is the best decision for you and look to the bright and happy future for comfort.

My mom moved cross country with my brother and I to be near family, so I think not being in the area made it easier on her. Not that it was easy by any stretch of the imagination, she really loved the house. Once she was able to rent a house for the 3 of us to live in and we got back into the school/work routine it got easier on all of us. She's said many times that when she was able to buy her house on LI on her own it was the best feeling ever. It's an itty bitty 2 bedroom house but it's hers.
I hope you are feeling better soon.

it DOES get better, promise!
leaving my house BROKE my heart because my family, especially my dad, put SO much time, love, sweat, blood, into that house.
but trust me, your memories will last forever and you will find a new place that is truly your home.
