I've lost my will to let him CIO...
maybe it's because I'm in a slump right now. i don't know, listening to him cry as I type this feels like it is ripping my own beating heart out of my chest. Lately I just feel like I'm not a good mother. Or moreso that I think Matthew deserves the BEST mother there is and I'm not her. All I wish I could do right now is go in there and hold him until he falls sleep. But I know I shouldn't.
Pity party over, carry on. Thanks for listening

You are not a bad mommy!!!
We all go through phases of thinking that we are not doing what is right, but that is parenting, you learn as you go. CIO is probably one of the hardest things to go through. What could be worse than listening to your baby cry and cry, when all you want to do is go in and comfort them? We all feel this way, you are not alone. Just know that you are doing this because you care about your child and want them to develop good sleeping patterns. If you decide to stick with it, take it one day at a time.
Hang in there!!!

Oh Lisa...
I am so sorry you are going through this. You know what, you are going to do whatever it is that you feel is right for your son. Whether it is CIO or not, you do what you feel is best as his wonderful mother! You are doing a great job! Hang in there!

Re: I've lost my will to let him CIO...
thanks ladies...I should have added that we're not new to CIO. We've been doing it for at least a month now and in the beginning he never cried more than a minute if at all. But last week i went away for 6 days and since I've been back he's been out of sorts (I think teething combined with not napping) so I think he's off kilter a little. But happy to report that he is now out. Phewwwww.
