IVF and donor egg

I am soooo very new. Just tiptoeing into IVF. I had my consult and the blood drawn that night (Not on 3rd day draw) showed FSH was 67. I am so, so upset and heartbroken. My age is the huge factor (45). We waited too long. So, doc. originally suggested donor egg. DH seems to be ok after his tests. I am so apprehensive and am heart broken that my eggs probably aren't any good. I am just reaching out to others who may have used donor egg or have had similar situation. If my mensus ever comes (never, ever missed and this month I am 15 days late but not PG) I will do the 3rd day blood draw if it comes after the Provera is done. I am so sad right now.

I also have a high FSH, last test was 30 I think and I am only 33 years old. The RE isn't very optomistic, but I did get pg twice in the last 2 1/2 years but had 2 m/c's. My RE is letting be doing a IUI this cycle and if I don't respond to the meds, then it looks like donor eggs are my only option too. I am hoping and praying I respond, I go back on Monday for a sono to see if the meds are doing anything. I can't go into donor eggs without knowing that I did everything possible with my own eggs first.

I have a friend who did donor egg and got PG on the first try.
If it's important to you to carry the baby and know that it's your baby in as many ways as possible, DE is definitely the best option.
Plus, RE's like LI-IVF have such a large pool of donors that you can choose someone who has the same genetic traits as you without too much trouble.

Your journey will end with a child in your arms. It will be YOUR child from the first kick you feel - it doesn't matter whose eggs got you to that point.

Thank you for the encouragement...I guess it doesn't matter where the egg comes from, at least it will be a part of me somehow and a part of DH. I always wanted his baby, and to be able to bring a child into our home is the ultimate goal.....Hey, I didn't think he would even consider it and he is willing to do whatever I want. He is such a great man. Thanks agai I read all the posts since I am just beginning this journy. Everyone here is so supportive. I wish you all success in your journey. I guess I will pick up my big girl panties and deal with this the right way.

I want to welcome you to the best board in the world w/the most loving supportive woman that you will ever come across.. I hope your stay is short..

for me donor egg was my next choice.. I already did 12 iui and 2 ivf all failed.. w/2 m/c in between.. I found I have n/k cells and thrombiphilia (blood clotting disorder). I never did an IVF cycle being treated for these issues.. So I begged my DH to do one mre cycle with my own eggs. (which is completely out of pocket no if coverage at all) w/donated meds from the girls on this board.. I am 43 and I am 9w pregnant.. Praise God.. If I want to give this baby a sibling I would have to go for the donor because I am going to be older and my chances are 75% instead of 12%... I know how you feel at this moment but keepp thinking about that baby growing inside of you and it becomes some much more acceptable.. You will most likely have a baby w/out wasting more of your very precious years.. Go for it I cant imagine regretting this.. Fm me any time!!

We are currently considering DE. I am 40yrs old and highest FSH was 15.5. I have done 6 IUI's and 3 IVFs. I was pregnant once on my own in Mar'07 but M/C at 5w4d. Its been a struggle. DH SA is good. So, its totally AMA for us. We are actually going to a seminar on Wednesday night at LI-IVF (check out their website). WE are either going for one more round of IVF or straight to DE.

Its a hard decision to wrap your head around, and i've been working through it. Its almost like you have to grieve for your eggs and 20+ years of AF for nothing etc...
