If the pictures are real and she was in Utah with him when he was supposedly "snow boarding with the guys" as he said on the show, just the fact that she was there is wrong to me.
Their lives have turned into such a mess-it's sad.

The fact that someone who is "allegibly" sleeping with Jon is on this pic.... this is what is wrong! You don't bring a woman in a middle of a controversy in the public eye and take her with you on a ski trip while your wife is not with you. That's what's wrong!

To use your logic, then Kate should fire her current body guard and get a new one because "allegedly" she's having an affair with him. What's good for the goose...and all that good stuff, no?
So to your point she's not giving the father of her children some respect.
As for him being himself, more often than not Kate is by HERSELF while she's touring the country on her book tour signings, speaking engagements and numerous interviews with People, UsWeekly, etc.
More times than not, she's without her kids and Jon's with them.
As for them divorcing now, I'd bet a buck (or two) that it's in their contract with TLC that they can't divorce while filming the show.
But if I were a betting woman (which I happen to be!  ) I'd say as soon as this all wraps up, they'll be an announcement that they're breaking up and getting divorced.
I think this marriage ended long before the public knew about it, they're just locked into their commitment with TLC for the show and MONEY and are "sucking it up" for now.
And lastly, at no point (at least I speak for myself) have I EVER said "poor Jon". I think they're both idiots and less than stellar parents. I think they both need to get a clue b/c anyone that would put themselves and their children on display the way they have, need a swift kick in the arse.

I wonder why this would like him or want any part of him at all? She knows he is married with 8 kids.. it just is so bizarre that she would want to get herself involved in that mess with the potential of being labeled a homewrecker, etc.. I wonder if they really are JUST friends and everyone is just making a huge deal over a simple friendship.

I haven't watched every episode but I have noticed the body language. They use to cuddle on that couch and now they are as far apart as can be with their legs crossed away from each other and not even the sleeves of their shirts are touching.
Kate's harder on him than she should be IMO, she travels to pimp out books about her children and should be with them.
Jon quit his job to help the family at home, yes, but where does he find the time to be meeting new people? Especially when his wife is out promoting her books?
So who is actually raising the children? The production crew? Baby sitters etc??
Both say they are there for the family? It seems they are only around when the show has something planned for filming - such as emeril cooking.
Not to mention - clearly they have not made the relationship a priority. I haven't heard anything about marriage counseling or whatever.
They both say they want what's best for the children. IMO what's best is to shut off the cameras and work on your relationship (even if it ends there are still 8 kids here), and focus on your family and spending time with them.
I think both are equally at fault for their decisions and what will probably result in the end of their marriage.

I would love to hear what someone with septuplets and twins has to say about their situation. I think it's easy for people without kids, or even with kids but not in the same situation as them, to judge their doing the show as wrong. If I were in Kate's shoes and someone offered me $70k per episode to film my life, I think I'd do it. They would struggle like crazy to provide for all of those kids, just like crazy Octomom was. When an opportunity like that knocks, it's hard to say no.
At this point, I think Kate and Jon are on different pages. I wouldn't be surprised if they are contractually bound by TLC to stay married. It seems as though, at least from this season's episodes, that they are actually not living together but try to make it look like they do. When Kate is on the road working Jon is home with the kids. And when Jon is off with "friends" (aka his girlfriend) Kate is home with the kids. Did anyone notice that when Kate's away it's to work and provide for her kids, but when Jon's away it's to vacation? Did anyone notice his new 2-seater sports car? Very kid friendly...

My inlaws have seven children. They got NO handouts. My FIL worked his AZZ off to provide for his family while my MIL stayed home to raise the kids. They never pimped their kids to survive.

Kate's equally guilty. She's on the road a hell of a lot more with her "bodygurad" (read boyfriend) than Jon is away from his kids.
I think these two would have stood a much better chance if they would have just tried to live a normal life. Even if they had just done the TV show, they may have stood a better chance, but in their case, they're never around each other. I think they grew apart with all the time spent separated, compound that with the stress of having 8 kids - it's just a recipe for disaster.
As I've stated, my ILs have 7 kids, but they've been married 49 years. I think the key to their success is that they're always there for each other. This was not the case with Jon and Kate.

So because the bodyguard serves a purpose that makes it OK for her to have an affair with him? 
I do believe Kate's behavior did drive Jon away but they BOTH owe it to those kids (who never asked for ANY of this) to have at least sought counseling to try to salvage their marriage.

I guess, but what if this girl is really just a friend? I mean, none of us know the total truth, only Jon and Kate do. So everything we say (for or against them) is really speculation.
Believe me, I really do get what you're saying I'm just playing devil's advocate here.
To be honest, I think they're both completely at fault. I'm not a fan of either of them!

I agree with a previous poster. I would have done the documentaries, I probably would have even done a season or two for the show. Heck, I would have even accepted a free tummy tuck esp. after a total of 8 babies. But after it truly starts affecting your life like that you need to walk away. Now you have a marriage in ruins and the kids may be ok now but this will truly affect them later in life. I think both are at fault but I'm guilty as charged... I started watching the show recently!  It's like a car accident on the LIE... you just need to slow down and watch.

ITA if I was in their shoes i would have told TLC last year that look we are having some marital and parental issues and the ride was good while it lasted but we can't do this anymore. I am sorry but they seem like they are doing all this for themselves and not thinking about the kids. The free vacations, plastic surgeries, cars, the house and the limelight. Kids don't need those material things Jon and Kate do and it seems like that is the only way they know how to live.  I think they would be lost if they ever had to go back into the real world and work like us.

One of the things I don't understand is how so many people point out that Kate isn't with the kids because she's doing her book tour. And what's the big deal if Jon gets away for a little bit since he's home with the kids everyday? Wasn't Kate a SAHM for years? Didn't she give up her career as a nurse to stay home for a couple of years? Or am I wrong? Because if she did give up her career to have the kids then I'm sorry but how could people now criticize her for "being away?"
