I'm still shooting my Nikon D50 but some things are different:
1 - These are all shot in Manual (I'm proud of myself for not blowing out the snow in these!)
2 - I learned how to use the unsharp mask in PS to lift the "fog" that DSLRs naturally have when you post on the web - it has to do with the hi-pass filter they use.
3 - I've been practicing
To do the frame is quick and easy:
1 - Image ->Canvas Size,
2 - check off "relative"
3 - increase size by desired inches (I used increments of .5),
4 - choose your canvas extension color in the drop-down list (I chose black, obviously)
I added a white no fill rectangle for the extra white border. That's it.
Takes two seconds and it's a nice touch for the web - I don't think you are supposed to use that for print though.
