i dont agree with the glorification of this situation at all. it is wrong and should not be see as all sunshine and rainbows. while i realize that mistakes happen this is giving teens the wrong message.

What should she have done- had an ABORTION?
IMO- that wouldve been far worse, and even more irresponsible.
I don't think anyone is saying that at all.
Listen, going through what I and many others on this board went through to have a baby I think that any and every baby is a welcome miracle.
But at the same time I worry what the portrayal of teen pregnancy being all easy and superfun says to some teens out there.
Yes, Juney, parents should have the talk with their children, but not all do.
And the ones that don't are the ones that generally need it most because they don't have open conversations with their parents and in the absence of that, they look to anyone else - even a "celebrity". ESPECIALLY if that celebrity is making it everything look better from their end.
I just hope that at some point she makes it a point to say "Yes, this is the best thing that ever happened to me, and I love being a mom, but I don't think this is for everyone and it's not always easy."
That's all.
The more she talks about how it fulfills her and completes her and is so easy and fun, the more I see teenage girls saying "Hey, sign me up!"
ITA. Of course, every baby is miracle. However, Jamie Lynn happens to be very lucky in that her family has the money and means for her to provide for a baby at her young age. The vast majority of teens are not as fortunate and I imagine most teen moms really struggle in so many ways. This story seems to be only showing the positive aspects of having a baby and not a realistic picture. I think that could effect vulnerable teens and children. That is my problem with the story.
