And now, as the dust settles and the country struggles to make sense of the violence that left five dead -- including an officer with the US Capitol Police -- experts warn that the calls for violence have only intensified ahead of Inauguration Day, when President-elect Joe Biden will be sworn in as commander in chief.
"We are seeing ... chatter from these white supremacists, from these far-right extremists -- they feel emboldened in this moment," said Jonathan Greenblatt, the CEO of the Anti-Defamation League, which tracks and counters hate. "We fully expect that this violence could actually get worse before it gets better."

Advance Democracy, Inc., a nonpartisan governance watchdog, highlighted red flags on social media. In the six days leading up to the event, for instance, there were 1,480 posts from QAnon-related accounts that referenced the event and contained terms of violence. On Parler, the report said, multiple posts referenced war, including statements like "the war begins today."

There may have been a few people in the crowd that didn't know what was going on, but it seems like a lot of them were planning on some type of violence for weeks.

It was planned. It was documented all over social media for weeks and has been exposed on major platforms now. They were also planning to come back and do more damage from the 16-20th. (Inauguration week).

A look to the future...:Trump announced he would NOT be at the inauguration for a reason. So he cult would know he was not there and would not be in danger when they attack.

 Everything she said. These domestic terrorists have been planning this for a long time. They're not shy about the incriminating things they post online. Everyone with an internet connection knows it except now terrorist enablers want to play dumb and pretend it was someone else... that these terrorists could never be capable of such violence against their own country. I would HOPE law enforcement is crawling all over Parler because they haven't been secretive about their plans for inaugural week, but judging that there were only like 12 cops present for an event (and the attendees' intentions) that was highly publicized hints at something much darker.

Exactly. That was one of the reasons Twitter made a decision. It was a nod towards incited violence IMO. “For those asking, I won’t be attending”

I honestly feel that the majority of people there did not know this was going to happen. Just like people who went to rally’s over the summer didn’t know what antifa had planned (don’t say they didn’t plan...they were flown in from all over and trailers full of riot items).
These extreme groups on both sides need to be shut down.

I watched it all unfold on live tv. They opened trailers and people pulled items out.
I listened to interviews of people who were at those events so sad that people from other parts of the country came in and destroyed their peaceful protests.
Don’t tell me antifa didn’t sit and plan their ‘attacks’. They knew when these events were taking place.
They are the ones ruining rally’s, protests, vigils, etc... no normal person decides to wake up and attend a potentially life threatening event. I know people who went to DC for the trump rally. They love trump and believe their was some sort of election fraud. They aren’t these nut jobs on the extreme. They didn’t want to sit silently, they wanted to support their president. THEY HAD NO IDEA WHAT WAS GOING TO HAPPEN, like all the people they met that day.

Normally I would agree BUT in this case, I think there is a VERY small minority who went there clueless. Trump has been riling his base up for years and in the months leading into the election and after, he has fueled them with constant rhetoric of needing to take back the country, "Stop the Steal", rampant fraud and some crazy left agenda they should fear. He convinced them their rights were being stolen and if they didn't get out there and FIGHT, they would lose everything.
Trump choosing and promoting the 6th was no accident, he made it abundantly clear that his intent was to STOP the vote count and as such, he needed his base to rebel and fight for him. With all of social media planning, Trump's tweeting and everyone on the right supporting his lies there was NO WAY you could have shown up there thinking nothing was going to go down. Maybe there were a few bobbleheads floating around but I certainly believe that the majority knew FULL WELL what they were trying to accomplish that day.

There may have been some people that didn't know what was planned, I'm sure. They may have thought they were attending a peaceful protest. But, while they were sitting on long bus rides for hours they didn't overhear talk from other people? They didn't notice the ones walking around with baseball bats, weapons, zip ties? Didn't overhear talk about explosives, molotov cocktails? They didn't question why the gallows was being raised before what they thought was supposed to be a peaceful event?
I also think some of these people knew what was planned and decided to hang back outside and not get involved with what was going to happen inside. They let people like horn boy and podium thief take the lead.

This was not like any other protests where people peacefully protest for an actual cause that matters. This was a mob of angry, pi$$ed off people who were incited by and called to ACTION by Trump. He encouraged them to "STOP THE STEAL". He encouraged them to FIGHT BACK. MOST were not there to peacefully get their point across, they were there with an action plan. That plan was to stop the certifying of the votes no matter the cost.
The events of Wednesday go well beyond whether anyone "dislikes" Trump, there is literally NO question that the POTUS is behind this insurrection. NOT a protest, an insurrection. His actions were so appalling and treasonous that anyone who continues to sell this failed overthrow of our government as a "peaceful protest where people didn't know what they were getting into" is both detached from the facts and is turning a blind eye.

Here’s the thing.
BLM protests had some bad apples for sure. Looting, burning cars, spray painting churches and banks, lighting a Starbucks on fire - all unacceptable. Opportunists, crazies, whatever - diminishing the majority.
But .. and a big but ..
Hundreds - thousand? in one single day, one afternoon -
Sieged THE CAPITOL.
A FEDERAL BUILDING.
They DISRUPTED DEMOCRACY as a procedure was taking place to confirm the next president. They disrupted our working government. I think that’s being missed here.
They had plastic handcuffs, a noose/gallow, crushed an officer in a door as he screamed in agony, KILLED an officer by smashing a fire extinguisher on his head, took over offices, demanding Pelosi and Pence to come out so they can be killed. All of this is ON TAPE. What if they did spot Pelosi? Or any other “enemy”?
The people so far who have been arrested were TRUMP, Alt Right SUPPORTERS.
There weren’t just 5 psychos who sieged the Capitol. It was hundreds.
There is zero comparison to BLM over summer vs this in my opinion.

You can have your opinion of course but it’s not based in fact. The FBI even said there is no evidence of “Antifa” involvement.
It was coordinated.
A local hate group on LI circulated a poster about the event, the Capitol is under dark clouds and lightning. They used the Third Reich font, a nod to anti-semetism. Vile. One wack job woman from NY was wearing a padded vest and Jawbreaker gloves. She is always ranting in videos about “doing this for Trump.”
It is legitimate cult members who have morphed into domestic terrorists in the making.
