I completely agree with the fact that society is backwards in certain ways. They are getting paid a ridiculous amount of money that is not DESERVED. They did not bust their butts getting an education and having two jobs. Acting like a fool on TV and getting paid $$$ doesn't mean they deserve it.
All I can say is that money does not buy happiness. I look at people who make a ridiculous amount of money (and don't DESERVE it) and keep in mind that they are probably missing a lot in life. I don't have a lot of $$, but I have two healthy kids, a healthy marriage and a roof over my head.
They are brainless twits with a heavy bankroll. period.

I think her point, as she mentioned in her OP, is that society is just half a$$ backwards paying these morons tons of money, while other, more honorable professions get paid dirt. I don't think she is losing sleep over the fact that Snookie is driving a BMW. At least that's what I got from her post.
I happen to agree with her, but I also watch the show so what do I know

Really...their houses were pretty 
If I had their bankroll, not only would I be sportin a fancy car...but my house would be big pimpin too.
Eh...I don't mind about their $$.
I was a teacher too...I knew I'd never buy a BMW on my salary.
These trainwrecks are entertaining...let 'em spend their money.

Exactly.
As Beth said, most of them had those cars since season 1.
Moreover, while they may be driving nicer cars (but as someone pointed out certainly not a Bentley) I think they all still live at home with their parents, with the exception of Mike.
Whether or not you like it or how it's done, what they are doing is earning a living.

J Woww does own a house in franklin square- I am not sure if it was the one she lived in with Tom- I can pull it up on public records tomorrow 
in typical guido style they spend their money on there cars....not shocking

MTV makes a fortune off this show- so why shouldn't the cast make money?
it's not like there is longevity in this type of career- they will most likely be broke in less then 5 years- just like 50% of NFL players
I would rather have my career any day of the week b/c I know even at 50 I will be able to make money

They had BMW 3series...their payments are probably about $400-$500 per month...it's not like they were driving Mabachs/Bentleys, etc.
Mike was the only one driving a "higher" end vehicle w/the Range Rover.
They all had "nice" cars to begin with - Jenni had an Escalade - now she has a 3 series. Pauly also had an Escalade and driving a Caddy.
I don't think it's that "big" of a deal - IMHO.
My BF even pointed out that Mike had that Range Rover on the first season.

my point is- half of them are driving the same cars as last year and they don't get paid lots of money for doing NOTHING- like the OP is claiming
most of them- like Mike are not morons- they are very smart and capitalizing off their 15 mins of fame with product promotions, iphone apps etc
they get paid a decent amount money for entertaining 8.5 million people- but considering that many people watch-now I think they are underpaid

Most of them still lived at home w/ their parent(s)....Snookie, Vinny, Sammie, Ronnie, Pauly (the house they showed was the same one he lived in with his mom on season 1)....or at least that's how MTV is still portraying it.
Heard that Snooks & JWoww are looking for a house together on LI though

Those Escalades in the 2nd season were not there's. Snookie had the Escalade and picked up JWOW on LI then JWOW drove to Miami.
Pauly had the same Escalade in Season 2 and drove with Mike to Miami.
MTV probably gave the Escalades to them since they were driving. The same trucks were used during there stay in Miami.
In season one Snookie had a car that broke down on the way to the Jersey Shore
Pauly drove his caddy in Season one was back to driving his caddy in this season
Mike had a Range Rover in the first season.
Vinny had a yellow racing car in first season and now has a mercedes.
SAD that I know all of this. I KNOW!

mike does have a bentley--i was watching some talk show and he said he has one
they are not all in their early 20s,,mikes pushing or is 30(maybe even over) and i think pauly is late 20s
snookie has a book
mike has a workout video
they both do commercials
mike got paid to do dwts
so they def made $ from JS but it has lead to other venues for them to make money
pauly is still dj-ing..he's more of a celeb dj now though
sammi was in college, snooki says she is studying to be a vet tech-so a little ambition there!!
idk,
i love the show and it is very entertaining...yes they are idiots but it's enjoyable to me
most of us could have had our own shows probably called the Hampton Bays!LOL or the something to do w/ the boardy barn !!
should they make so much $ being stupid prob not but it doesn't bother me one bit bc there are a lot of people that shouldn't be making what they do...we all choose how we want to make money and have to be satisfied w/ the amount we make or switch careers

OP, I think I know what you mean...that these people are even famous for acting this way. That's why I stopped watching it. I just can't.
I don't blame the JS cast for capitalizing on their fame. I think it's gross that they have even been given a platform for this long.

I agree with the sentiment in the OP, but what I wonder is why people don't get as enraged about the Kardashians or the Real Housewives? To me, they are all wh0ring themselves out. Does the JS group get more grief because they are less attractive or less educated? Or is it because they are more promiscuous?
I don't really see a difference, they are all putting their lives out there for all to see.

I totally agree with you and I dont get it either. Jersey shore is the same as the rest of the reality trash thats on tv. And those people all get paid the big bucks. I guess maybe people bash JS more bc they were no-names who became something. Whereas the rest of the reality trash is of people who are already established in the industry? Who knows...I find the trash entertaining and continue to watch their crazy antics.

I noticed the cars too. It didn't bother me. I say make as much money as you can. They are bringing in the views to MTV & are compensated for that.
MY only concern is that I really hope that they can parlay their earnings into something that is sustaining.

There are many jobs that people take and they take them knowing full well they will never be millionaires or well off, regardless of how much education they receive.
You pick your job because you love to do it, some people pick a job because they want to make a lot of money.
You can't cry that your a teacher and its a noble job and you will never drive a BMW.
Everyone chooses their choice in life in what they want to be. There will always be someone who is richer, thinner, prettier then the next person its just how it is. You can't get upset over it
Trust me I am NOT crying. You dont have to be rude. i am VERY happy and i love my job. Its so obvious that some replies on here just love to be rude and have to have a comment. AGAIN, my point was that we as a society sometimes value the wrong things. I couldnt care less in the end that the drive BMWs. I personally dont care about material things like that.
I agree with you Michele, but unfortunately this is the society we live in. Sad but true. I see kids in my neighborhood driving around in daddy's Lexus's & BMW's. Meanwhile, they have part time jobs at tanning salons & the mall. It is so obvious that they are not the ones making these car payments.

Entertainers and athletes make a ton of money but at the same time their careers also employ millions of people in this country. From the people that make the shows happen to people that they entertainers hire to help them in various aspects of their life.
So yes I agree that it doesn't seem right that these morons will make more money then I ever will in my life. But I also have kept my dignity and respect in life. I don't have to show off my goods to make the salary that I make. I am setting an incredible example for my children by being a successful career woman. To me that is worth more money then those losers will ever make from their stupid classless show.
