Jim Bob & Michelle Duggar announce #18 is on the way
We are so grateful to God to announce that Michelle is expecting our 18th child, due in January of 2009!Jennifer Danielle
Psalm 127 says, “Lo children are a heritage of the Lord, the fruit of the womb is His reward.” We believe that each child is a special gift from God and we are thankful to Him for each one.
We have enjoyed hearing from thousands of families that have emailed us over the past several months and we regret that we have not been able to respond to everyone. We appreciate the words of encouragement and what a joy to hear from many who are seeking a relationship with Jesus Christ and yet others who desire to train up their children to follow God with their whole heart!
Many have asked Michelle child training or organizational questions. Others have asked Jim Bob about the Jim Sammons Financial Freedom Seminar, which we highly recommend.
We want to be quick to say, we are still learning by God’s grace & we do not consider ourselves ‘Professional Parents’. One thing we are confident of is “this very thing, that HE who has begun a good work in us will continue it until the day of Christ Jesus”. We consider the Bible the 'Owner's Manual' for our lives, and in it is contained all the answers to life’s questions. We hope to update our website in the FAQ's section from time to time.
We would like to recommend a free Daily Success email that is packed full of God’s wisdom. It will encourage and challenge you in your daily walk with God.
In September of 2007, “The Duggars' Big Family Album”, premiered on the Discovery Health Channel. It is a fun show recapping the last few years of our lives up to the birth of Jennifer Danielle. You can go to the Discovery Health Website and see YouTube clips of new shows, past shows and play the new game titled simply, "Name That Duggar."

I saw them on some talk show, was it Oprah...she said that she doesn't wear anything but maternity clothing.

I wonder if they'll stop before she hits menopause. 
If they can provide for their children more power to them. The only thing I think about is how much attention could they all be getting? I mean you can just give 17 (soon to be 18) kids just so much individual attention.
Not to mention, if I remember correctly the older children help out with taking care of the younger kids, so what kind of childhood/young adulthood does that give them?
Oh well, to each their own.

i think it's great. it's definitely a bit odd and uncommon in this day and age, but hats off to them. clearly their family and faith are more important to them than the material things of our day and i don't think that can be said for most people.
18 children though is a lot. my dad grew up next to a family with 25 kids when he was growing up in Ireland. The mother was pregnant for a generation- literally! and unfortunately, it seemed like the kids were just made to work the farm - they were very poor and had a tough life.

No way will they stop- they accept each one as a gift from God so unless they stop emmm - you know-  - they will continue to have kids.

Jennifer Danielle is #17. I don't know why her name is thrown in there after the 1st sentance. Maybe it was a caption for the picture. Sometimes that stuff gets screwed up when you copy & paste.

Yes, in all the shows they older kids take care of the younger ones. There is no way the two of them can give much attention to each child.
Have you seen the house they built and how much food they need? How do they afford it?
