They could find you by the first and last name or email address.
I am not worried since I am working now but when I signed up on myspace, I used a different last name and I have always used a different email address as my professional.
Same here. I do not use my real name for my Myspace account, and I have an email address dedicated ONLY to the myspace account.
If someone were to google me only really good things come up, so that does not bother me either.
I also have no recognizable pics of myself on it, so unless you know me really well there is know way you'd even know me from my profile pic.

I sent mine to private and have no had any issues. I also know what to post and what not to post about my job. My 15 year old nephew is also my friend on there so I have to watch what I post anyways.

With it being private all they can see is my name. My location. My age. Also a nice pic of me roasting a marshmallow in a fire. For all they know I could be singing Kumbaya. LOL. I have googled myself and I am good to go.

Is it legal to use any information like that in the selection process? Can you legally not hire someone, even if they were the best candidate for the job, on the basis of their Myspace page? It sounds very unethical to me.
In my office we go through probably close to 1000 applications a week and run 100 plus interviews a week...we would have to hire a whole team to do that!!!
