Jon & Kate last night..
I thought it was sooo sad. I actually cried when kate was talking at the end about her kids being a statistic. I felt terrible for her.
Jon was obviously upset, but I thought he came off as an azz. Saying "I'm 32 and excited about the next chapter of my life"
ummmm....don't say your excited.
Those poor kids.

They BOTH should have thought of the kids, and they BOTH should have decieded to CANCEL the show. But they BOTH deceided to continue with it.

I agree. IMO he didn't seem that upset at all. I usually don't like Kate but I really felt bad for her. Jon is an immature a$$.

It was such an upsetting episode.  I felt so bad for everyone involved......EXCEPT JON. When he talked about being "excited" about this new chapter in his life....I wanted to beat the sh!t out of him!!!!!!  Selfish loser!!!!!!

I have to agree with this. I was never a big fan of Kates but Im changing my tune a little. Especially when Jon said "I let her rule the roost and I finally stood up for myself..Im proud of myself"  Really Proud of yourself!!! What about being a real man and telling her you were unhappy instead of fooling around and then "standing up for yourself" maybe you could have worked it out if she knew you were unhappy!! Grow a sac Mr!!!!

ITA! I thought the show would have been "Jon and Kate cancelling show" not Jon and Kate getting a divorce". Cancelling would have been the smart route to fix their issues but I guess the gravy train would stop if they did. What a shame that money comes first and those poor kids.

i didn't watch. haven't watched the show in some time. but i'm still sad. i've been through it and it's not fun... especially, when kids are involved.
they both played a role. like others have stated, i wasn't a big kate fan... but now, i hate jon!

I hardly watch the show anymore. But Jon came off as such an azz last night.
Did the season just start or was is coming to an end?
If it's a new season I'm not surprised they didn't announce they were cancelling. They are in a contract with TLC...who knows what's in the contracts if they pull out.
BUT they also could have not signed on for another year, if the season just started. They both admitted things haven't been good for a long time.

I didn't see that at all. He seemed full of anger and very cold.
Maybe it's a front, but I would think that to get to the point of divorce you need to move past the "front" and get in touch with your real feelings.
Obviously, I have no idea how their private conversations go but I got the impression that she wanted to worked on the marriage and he refused. That still seems like anger and spite to me-if you really are concerned for your kids I would think you would try counseling before divorce.
Who knows-maybe they did. It just seems ugly.

In a way I don't feel bad for Jon. He has taken her crap for such a long time, that he is no standing up for himself.
What I don't like is, I don't think they have tried everything. Bc not once did they mention counseling. I honestly think that canceling the show and counseling, might have helped.
But to them it seems to be all bout the money.

I do agree with Kate's statement that it would've come to this "whether or not the whole world was watching". I think Jon is just too immature to handle the commitment and responsibilities of marriage and they were doomed from the start. How nice that he's "excited' to begin sowing his wild oats again.
Totally random, but has anyone else noticed that Kate's voice is almost identical to Ellen Degeneres'?

Me too.
I also think it's sad that both of them repeatedly said "for the kids, for the kids" and not once did they say for eachother or for their marriage. I believe that marriage must always remain a priority, even with 8 kids.

Jon wanted to stop doing the show last season. Kate did not. I think that if they stopped the show last season Jon would have been willing to work on this marriage but Kate didn't think about him and continued with another season.
I think Jon is just mad. I think he realized that she has been treating him like garbage for the past couple years. I am sure that he heard it everywhere he went from anyone he ran into. We all saw it on TV and laughed at him.
I mean, when was the last time that you heard Kate's voice so calm? It was creepy and I felt like it was an act.
Obviously the real victims here are those poor kids. My parents got divorced when I was 5. I don't remember much of when they were together, the only times I remember were when they were fighting. Unfortunately that might be all they remember too.
Sorry this is so long!!!
